We stay in Methoni most years and this castle is always something we go and visit. The entry is £3 but if you are late enough to the early closing time you get in free. The castle itself is huge and is absolutely fascinating. If you are in the area you can go up a path beside the castle you... More

I'd visit the fortress several times and every time with photo camera... Mystical and wonder place full of history!

I would do this rather than go to Delphi, Olympia, Mystras, or mycenae. Each castle i listed is different and beautiful. I would strongly recommend making a day out of Koroni, Methoni and Pylos castles, in that order going from great to greatest. It was probably the best day in my 7 days in greece. Methoni specifically is great because... More

Although not preserved at all, the castle of Methoni is really a unique piece of architecture and history. Enjoy a long walk into the castle and around its walls. Also great view of the sunset there.

Methoni castle was beautiful, particularly when set against the sparkling blue sea. I would recommend sturdy footwear though (nothing too professional, just trainers/converse rather than flipflops).

It is a mixture of history and incredible view. The entry is just 2 euro per person, but visit the castle worth any money. The view are extraordinary.

A great experience and must visit in Methoni. IT is a centuries old castle and grounds you can explore. Small sections have been restored and you can definitely explore on your own. There are no "guardrails" you definitely can explore as you want. Really cool experience

Would highly recommend taking time out to see this castle. Not as many exhibits as the castle at Pylos but for only €4 it can't be beaten. A big castle with great views of the sea - and is worth seeing from an adults and child's view.

A beautiful, majestic medieval castle at the edge of Methoni, overlooking the sea. A must visit ( 2 euros entrance) and totally worth to spend lots of time wandering around the walls, taking lovely pictures and explore such a beautiful castle and the Bourtzi at the edge of it. Just breathtaking. It' s also great at night with the lighting... More
