It was such an interesting museum to visit and read about the history of the area during the war. They experienced some dreadful fighting.

Worth a visit place in Kobarid. Good exposition about the Caporetto battle and the war in general. A short movie is also recommended.

We are going from Ljubljana to Kobarid. The Museum presents the First World War on the Isonzo Front, focusing on the Twelfth Isonzo Battle, known as the Battle of Kobarid. The battle turned into one of the most violent encounters in the history of this mountainous region and,... More

Well organised with very helpful people. Clean, modern and very informative of the war zone that probably most of us know nothing about.

Such a well presented Museum covering a little-known, tragic WW1 battleground over the peaks of the beautiful Julian Alps. Beautifully covered in different languages with details on soldiers and their diaries. Yes, we bought/read a copy of Hemingway's A Farewell to Arms - not as interesting as the museum.

The staff went above and beyond to ensure we had a memorabe experience even though they were hosting a private event for a larger German tourist group. In between the different video... More

It was here that Italy and the Austin-Hungarian Empire clashed and hundreds of thousands lost their lives. It... More
