This is a must see, even though it is tough to see photos of the men and women who fought and helped at the Soca front during World War 1. There were loads of photos and mementos of the fighting at the Soca front. 60,000...More

I have been visiting Slovenia since 1965. This was my first visit to the Kobarid region. One of the main reasons for visiting was to see where my grandfather fought on the Isonzo Front in World War 1. My grandfather died before I was born....More

It is the best way to get to know what happened in Caporetto/Kobarid during the first world war. As you enter you will be soon plunged into the history of these mountains and the tragic events that took place in 1917. We have seen the...More

What a great collection of stories, photos and artefacts from the conflict in WW1. The surrounding landscape had played host to a brutal tussle over a two year period and as always in war there are no winners only lives altered forever...and what for? A...More

This museum is largely dedicated to the First World War and the Battles of Isonzo. The museum is really well put together with an informative film to start the visit (in various languages). The museum is very much about the stories of the soldiers rather...More

This is an amazing collective of artifacts and letters from the soldiers on the WWI in this region. It is shocking to imagine so much tragedy and suffering, more than 1,200,000 died here during the war. Their stories live here. Mesmerizing, Tragic, Amazing collection!

The museum is a well designed and at times shocking representation of the WWI in this area. It is however mostly unchanged since it got its prestigious award in the early 1990s and this is really a waste. With all the new technologies and trends...More

After enjoying all the outdoor action around Bovec, it's a good counter balance. Small but with a good collection of pictures and explanation in English next or Italian, German and Slovenian.

The museum has a lot of material on the First World War battles that took place in the neighbouring mountains. Gives a good glimpse on how hard it was for the soldiers to be here (height, avalanches, dead bodies etc). Good 3D landscape model of...More
