If I had to live in a zoo I'd chose this one...

... But a lot of the animals still looked bored and lethargic! It's aesthetically very pleasing - wide open spaces, lovely views, very well designed. The birds of prey show was... read more

No words to describe this awful run down zoo .Animals in horrific conditions , small dirty enclosures hence very smelly !! Rabbits in wire bottomed cages no food, peeing etc onto the concrete floor underneath them what a stench ! No grass or runs for them !! Donkeys and ponies Un clean enclosures , bird encloses covered in muck and... More

Although the weather was not cooperating we had so much fun in that zoo! Animals are displayed so that you can see them well and even interact with some. Monkeys are especially funny. My kids have been in many zoos around the world and I frankly thought there is not too much to expect, but I was wrong. Butterflies were... More

The birds and smaller animals are all ok and the zoo has a nice atmosphere. The problem is that all the large mammals look like they are in concrete cages built 30 years ago. Very small enclosures badly in need of replacing. The male chimpanzee called Herbertus is obviously mentally ill with most of his fur missing. The visitors all... More

Your kids will love this zoo. But I'm not sure that the animals in the zoo agree. If you want to discuss animal welfare this is the place to do it.

The animals are living in the smallest cages I have ever seen, they are also not eating what they are suppose to be eating, the bears are fed just bread. It was 40 degrees today and the animals did not have any shade to go into. They were in the boiling hot sun all day. It was a waste of... More

There is a wide range of animals here, particularly birds, many of which I haven't seen before. The butterfly house is magical, and we spent ages in there. We also witnessed a snake laying her eggs and a massive brown bear taking a bath, and the big cats being fed (white tigers, snow leopards, asiatic lions, jaguar). As is common... More

First, this zoo is placed within a very hilly area and there are relatively steep walkways to traverse; it was not designed with mobility-impaired people in mind. However, the paths are paved. Second, the animals appeared to be in more or less satisfactory conditions. We don't know international zoo standards. However, nothing jumped out (you know what I mean) at... More

This zoo is not okay for wheelchairs. I don't even need to say more! The paths are relativity smooth but patchy, but they are very steep and mostly unmanageable for manual wheelchairs. My electric wheelchair could just about cope with the help of two strong men. As for the zoo itself, I wanted to take the animals home with me.... More

... But a lot of the animals still looked bored and lethargic! It's aesthetically very pleasing - wide open spaces, lovely views, very well designed. The birds of prey show was excellent. However 1) everything is in Spanish. There should be some translation to English. No English guide maps, the app had a GB flag on it but once downloaded... More
