Only €3 to visit! Very informative exhibition. Plentiful, free parking. We visited on a busy July morning and had to wait about 40 minutes as entry is in groups every ten minutes. Lovely coffee shop too.

The museum is amazing - absolutely fascinating! I could spend hours there. The information boards are very good and the replica cave is amazing.

I had been excited to see the caves. It was a real bucket of cold water to discover we were only allowed to see a replica. I totally understand the reason behind it. However, the replica is not impressive, as it's not the real thing....More

First, everyone needs to know that this a a replica, and tourists haven't been allowed in the cave for years. However, the drawings are brought to life in this replica. The rest of the musem is informative as well. Worth a visit.

This museum does an amazing job of providing information and replicating the actual caves. It was free to seniors and just and amazingly well thought out.

I rate how they handled this museum given you can't enter the real cave. Very educational facility they built. Highly recommend. Really inform you of humans throughout time.

I was looking forward so much to this visit, being a huge archeological fan, but was somewhat disappointed. We were rather rushed through the cave exhibit. (We WERE a tour group.) But the paintings were awesomely reproduced. The idea that this amazing art was created...More

It's cheap to see so it's definitely worth seeing if you are in the area (6 euro for two people). The museum part is interesting showing you the history of the area and the quality of the artwork they discovered is amazing. They give you...More

Altamira is a must-see for anyone interested in prehistory. I was very happy to get the chance to see it. The museum is interesting, the restitution of the cave is not so good as Lascaux' but it is still really great. One annoying detail: we...More

No, there was just a small line when we were there. It was a pick season.
