...i treated my wife to a 4 hour salmon charter (part of her birthday present) with Rollie...and it was an outstanding experience.. when we got to the dock on the day of our charter we were greeted by 25-30 knot winds and since the plan was to catch fish (and not feed them!!)...Rollie suggested that if we would prefer he would move us up to the next day when the storm had passed.. we gladly agreed and returned the next morning to ideal conditions..it is obvious that Rollie knows his trade.. he constantly adjusted the depth setting on the downriggers and "fine tuned the bait"..the result..we caught our limit in under 3 hours..we had over 60lb of Chinook Salmon..the wife had a blast!! on the way back we stopped to watch a humpback breaching...alltogether an awesome day.. Thanks Rollie...we will be back…

Rollie took us quite aways out and set up his sophisticated anchoring system. It took a while but when the bit hit, we were the happy fisherpeople. The three of us each got a nice halibut and one was close to the weight limit too. Rollie gladly cleaned the fish for us which saves us a lot of time as he is so experienced. The previous year, we went salmon fishing with Rollie and the 3 of us caught our limit too. I highly recommend Sooke Salmon Charters as Rollie knows where the fish are and he is a very positive contributor to our local fishing community. We will book with Rollie again in 2014!!!…

Having fished the Pacific Coast from Mexico to Alaska for over 50 years, I consider Captain Rose to be one of the finest guides I have encountered. I have booked a trip with him this year, the fifth in six years. If the fish are there, Rollie will get them hooked up.

My 3 young children and I went out with Rollie salmon fishing in August 2009. It was a total blast for all of us. We all caught salmon with Rollie's expert guidance, one of which was a 40 pound record for that year so far. He certainly knows the waters around Sooke and was full of information about the surrounding area. We all remember this trip and talk about it to this day. We had my big salmon canned and I have to say its the best canned salmon I have ever had! I totally recommend going fishing with Rollie - if you want to catch some salmon and have a blast doing it, go with Rollie.…

Took my two sons and went with Rollie last year. Great family trip, good company and a very experienced guide. Nice long 10 hr charters and don't count on going home if the bites on at the end of the day!!. Great location and we were fishing within moments of leaving the Sooke Harbour. I'll be back.…
