This is a large off leash park for dogs once you get past the beach area. There is always a lovely ocean breeze and a good choice of long or short walking trails exist.

We walked here every day while we stayed in Esquimalt. The views are great and the dogs you meet are a bonus. We explored the old forts and took in the sunrise a couple of mornings.

This park is incredible! The views are great. The day was rather spoiled though by muddy dogs running around off leash. None of them were aggressive but some of them did jump up on us uninvited and get us all muddy and wet. If it wasn't for these delinquent dog owners this review would have had five stars. I do understand that there are leash off areas, however the bylaws still state that the dogs must be under control at all times. This means that they have to be obedient. The park is great though!

We went to this park because it was a couple of blocks from our Airbnb, and we're so glad we did. The views from the walking paths and cliff were breathtaking; it was a foggy day, but we could still see the traffic of the many ships passing through, and even a bit of the Olympic mountains but the best part were the remnants of Fort Macaulay - we appreciated that they've been left open for the public to explore, and there are plenty of signs detailing the history of the fort. This is a great sunday morning activity, but bundle up because it gets chilly!

Fabulous views and paths through this historic land mark in Esquimalt! For visitors, free parking at the boat launch. Also in very close proximity to Saxe Point park. Great for dog walking or just a stroll.
