This was my first trip to RibFest and I have to say......I am hooked. I tried ribs from the folks at Prairie Smoke and Spice (being a prairie girl myself) and they were so delicious. The sauce was sweet but not too spicy. They were cooked just enough to almost fall off the bone but still held on so you could pick them up and get sticky gooey fingers, which we all know is the best part of eating ribs. This was a fantastic event and appeared to be well run and organized. Lots of hand washing stations and garbage and recycle/compost bins. There were even people making sure the tables were cleaned, ready for the next batch of sticky fingers. That was a wonderful extra. An overall very fun event!

This is a great little park, where the annual Esquimalt "Ribfest" takes place. This gathering brings some of the "best" North American BBQ chefs to Victoria for making some of the tastiest babyback ribs & pulled pork entrees. It's well worth the visit as you have a kid's zone (no alcohol allowed) and some get little local venues, where you are able to purchase some tasty local beers! If you enjoy dancing & local musicians, you can have a great weekend. We will be back next year!
