The idyllic village of Plockton and its sheltered waters provide one of the best locations in Scotland for learning and improving your kayak skills, under the guidance of Alison French, a fully qualified sea kayak instructor.Sea kayaking out of Plockton enables you to experience breathtaking panoramic views of the Isle of Skye, Applecross and Torridon mountains and reach coral beaches only accessible by boat. Wildlife is abundant and journeying by kayak will give you the special opportunity to explore the fascinating coastline and get close up to otters, seals and even porpoise. We also explore the Isle of Skye’s remote and inaccessible coastline, with its Cuillin mountains providing a spectacular backdrop. Here we may see basking shark and Minke whales. The sea around the Isle of Skye presents the kayaker with an array of conditions to hone skills and play in. The Atlantic tides squeeze through the narrows of Kylerhea and Kyle of Lochalsh presenting the more experienced paddler with rougher water to practice techniques. You will be equipped with top quality sea kayaks, paddles, clothing and safety gear, and will receive expert tuition in a guaranteed small group environment. Coaching is highly personalised and professional, with your safety and comfort paramount. Your day will be tailored to your needs so that your sea kayak experience is an exceptional one.

My wife and I decided to do this while on holiday. We had done kayaking on rivers but never in the sea. We learned so much and we felt very much taken care of. Without realizing it we were going through a series of small classes where our instructor Lee was teaching us new tricks and tips the entire way.... More

We had tried to get on a sea kayak trip on the Isle of Skye but it was fully booked. And a good thing too as the bay around Plockton is amazing. The landscape is what you would expect to find in Norway or New Zealand; rugged mountains around a bay filled with nooks and islands. But the best bit... More

My daughter, her husband and my eldest grandchild had a fabulous day kayaking around the lochs. I was very impressed with Alison's professionalism and attention to detail in preparing them for the trip. They all thoroughly enjoyed the experience and my grandson earned his BCU 1 star certificate on the day. Sadly I felt unable to join them due to... More

What a wonderful experience gliding along in kayaks through amazing scenery and up close to wildlife, including curious seals. Alison, the owner of the company and our tour guide was extremely capable, throughout the day she added to our skills so that even us amateurs were relatively competent by the end. A day spent with a genuinely lovely lady. Would... More

I had booked a one-day Learn to Sea Kayak day - for the day after 80mph+ gales had blasted through the West Highlands. But on the day the bay at Plockton was (relatively) calm, although we could see some lumpier stuff further out. So, five novices under the charge of Alison. Who is exactly what you need in these circumstances.... More

We had a wonderful day kayaking with Alison who is a fantastic teacher. The landscape was stunning. We saw more than a dozen seals during the trip who cautiously swam 20ft or so away from the kayaks. An absolute highlight of our trip and we hope to do it again one day.

Myself and my wife booked a 1 day beginners session and we had a brilliant day out. Alison, our instructor, was excellent, very nice woman indeed. She looked after us while we were out and was also very good with a couple of young children in our group. She even baked flapjacks for us for a morning snack.

Louise and I were out on the water with Lee in a group of 5. It was the perfect introduction to Sea Kayaking. The group was small enough that no one felt left out. Lee was a great teacher, he was really easy to understand and the fact that none of us fell in shows how good he is I... More

Booked a full 1 day beginners session for myself, wife and daughter and had one of the best days of our 2 week holiday in the HIghlands. None of us had any experience but through the help and advice of our course leader (Lee) we not only managed to pick up the basics quickly but also got to see some... More

We had perfect weather which helped a lot. Most of us were experienced but the instructor let us practice in the bay first and made sure we were competent with turning etc. The route took us round coastline and islands- stunning scenery everywhere. We had a half day trip which was plenty. We had a couple of breaks on different... More
