Our first time visiting Algonquin Park and we spent 4 nights at the snowshoe cottage by the lake with our 2 little kids. The weather gods were very kind to us proving fresh snow and then wall to wall sunshine. Being off grid was just what we needed, we didn’t miss being connected at all. The cottage had everything we needed - we made sure we brought all the food we’d need. We enjoyed snowy walks, watching sunrise with the sound of the ice groaning, finding animal tracks in the snow, snowshoeing up hills, fires by the lake, but mainly peace and tranquility. Wayne was a wonderful guide with lots of ideas of activities. It was blissfully simple!

Rented Hondoo Island for one week. Everyone at Vovageur Quest was a pleasure to deal with and they went above and beyond, even helping me launch a boat as the lake levels were down this year. Fantastic experience on the island. The property is quite comfortable for its location. We were 8 in total plus 2 dogs and didn't ever feel crowded. Also, great fishing right off the dock and around the island.

We rented the Nippissing and Island Retreat cottage with our family and few close friends. My spouse and I are avid back country campers and wanted to share this experience with those closest to us with a few more comforts then tent camping to introduce them to the beauty of Algonquin and everything it has to offer.

We were a group of 16 that ranged in ages 9-75. We had the most amazing time in mid September. We were blessed with great weather, kids were able to swim, and we all enjoyed fishing and canoeing and did a few hikes in the area, we even saw a wolf cub on our drive back to the cottage one evening after a hike. John and all the staff were amazing. They were very helpful and supportive during the whole planning process and during our stay. We had 1 dinner at their Broken Paddle Patio and the food was incredible.

We absolutely loved how this area is in a remote area, with no cell service and loved the idea of solar electricity. At first, I was worried about having no service or devices as I thought the kids might get bored and complain the whole time, but the kids played outside the entire time! Not one complaint of not having a phone or xbox. They loved exploring the outdoors. After supper they would gladly join in and play cards or a board game with the adults or read a book. Disconnecting was exactly what we all needed, and it was amazing to not only reconnect with the outdoors, but with each other as a family. Especially after the last two years during the pandemic, it was a very soothing and relaxing trip for all of us.

If you are looking to get away from the hectic lifestyle of city life for a few days to relax and enjoy the outdoors or have an intimate gathering for a commitment/wedding ceremony with Algonquin as your backdrop, Voyageur Quest is for you.

If you are looking for a place to listen to loud music, party and all the luxuries of home and stay connected then Voyageur Quest isn’t for you.

My spouse and I are already discussing a trip back next year.

We rented three canoes. When we came back one of our canoes had scraped a rock and created a crack in the Kevlar. A park ranger on our way our said it will be about $200, any more than that and they are ripping you off.
When we got back I walked to the canoes with the owner and I said how much. He was like “oh well, our repair guy has quoted us... um $450.” It was obvious he just pulled that number out of the air.
Having researched it later that day and this morning I’ve come to realise that they absolutely just ripped us off and took complete advantage of our trust in them.

I am going to fight to get my money back as this is just not okay on principle.

Had an amazing time watching the ice go out on the lake at Voyageur Quest. Arrived to clean and organized cottage. The fire was already made with extra wood laid out waiting. The French press was set out and ready for morning sunrise coffees watching the season change. The staff was great and helped me sort out which trails to hike and what time to best see moose. We did see moose! Despite being a great paddler they gave me safety warnings about staying close to shore which made us feel cared for. The staff is educated, friendly and knowledgeable Bed was comfy. Kitchen well stocked with all the equipment I needed to make some fabulous meals. This is a beautiful place in Canada and an amazing mental health break. A great place to re charge. I highly recommend waking for the sunrise and watching the loons.

My husband and I enjoyed 3 nights with the Romantic Winter Culinary package. The food was absolutely incredible, full of flavour and very generous portions. There are beautiful well marked trails near the cottage with easy access for snowshoeing and skiing. Emily was very helpful and a wonderful host, she went the extra mile to make sure we were set with everything we needed and more. The cottage is divided units, upstairs and downstairs. We were in the lower unit and could hear the family upstairs quite a bit but otherwise the cottage was very cozy. Beautiful sunrises, this would be an amazing summer location.

We finally returned to Voyageur Quest from overseas after 4 years: minus one child, plus one girlfriend, and both hospitality and the weather didn't let us down.

Nor did the internet! The recent addition of internet access may not have kept the e-mails away, that is a matter of pure willpower, but it did allow us to watch Messi's magic, as Argentina easily defeated Croatia in Qatar.

Most memorable was the sound of the lake singing and groaning through the night. Thanks so much to John and team for their hospitality. After several weeks of a whirlwind trip through Quebec and Ontario, skiing and visiting family and friends, the boss said this was definitely the highlight and her favourite part of the trip.

3 day log cabin stay with hiking and canoeing.
Really enjoyed the 3 days, cosy, comfy cabin, lovely food, swimming in the lake and canoeing and hiking. Well looked after by Chris the chef and experienced guides Rhys and Beris.
It's such a beautiful area, so quite and peaceful really worth the long drive to get there.

We had a wonderful and fantastic weekend away at Voyageur Quest! It was the perfect place for a winter adventure.

We were in the Nipissing Cottages (Magnetawan Chalet Suite), and it was terrific - rustic with all the necessities. There's a full kitchen, and it's a perfect place to snuggle by the fire and read a good book.

The lake itself is beautiful, and we had so much fun skiing across. There are also many great trails in the area for snowshoeing and cross-country skiing - Voyageur Quest ensured we had all the gear we needed for outdoor activities. Staff were always available if we had any questions or concerns and stopped in to provide us with additional firewood as needed.

We cannot wait to return next year for winter activities (maybe even in the summer for a different experience)!

My girlfriend and I came for 3 nights and had an amazing experience! We enjoyed having the opportunity to cross country ski and snowshoe the beautiful trails. The cabin was cozy and could easily have fit more people. We loved being able to relax by the fire and enjoy our surroundings. Looking forward to booking a trip for next winter!
