Fabulous experience. My second time, the first was so great. Reece provided incredible amount of knowledge regarding the wildlife.
Being a city slicker, I really wanted to learn more as we explored the countryside on hikes. Meeting up with somebody so young, but so passionate about the environment and sharing his knowledge was a treat.
We ate very well! It was a great all round experience without roughing it in a tent.

We had The Best Trip ever with Mauricio on the 3 day canoe trip with Voyageur Quest.
We learnt to canoe in the most beautiful surroundings in Algonquin forest . Mauricio made us feel safe at all times and his wonderful meals were an unexpected delight!
2 nights camping were a treat 😃.
Thanks Mauricio & the lovely fellow guests that we shared our trip with!

We had simply the best time staying at the Algonquin Log Cabin recently, and cannot praise the Voyageur Quest people highly enough. Before our trip, I found the administrative side easy to follow and the folks I dealt with were professional and super-friendly. When we arrived, we were immediately made to feel welcome and at-home by our guide for the trip. The Log Cabin itself is full of character and a cosy, comforting and hospitable place to be: full of character and warmth (even without the huge, central fireplace in action!)
We ate the best food in our two-week-long Canada trip at the Algonquin Log Cabin, thanks 100% to the skill and flair of Abi, the cook. Even though I reckon she could make a mouldy potato taste great, the ingredients Abi used were very high quality and the dishes she served were imaginative and delicious. She handled cooking for three vegetarians alongside the rest of the guests (who were meat-eaters) without any difficulty, and we left the cabin feeling inspired and delighted by what she had cooked.
Baris, our guide, is a knowledgeable, caring and charismatic chap who shared his knowledge of the Algonquin flora and fauna with charm and humility. It was a real pleasure sharing his company, and our adventures with him, on foot and in canoe, were great fun -- even for our eleven-year-old son who didn't miss his tech-stuff at all!
We had numerous memorable moments on our own during our trip -- including enjoying a sauna on day 1 after our first canoe expedition around Surprise Lake, lounging in the Adirondack chairs on the deck by the lake, and practising our canoe 'skills' on an independent trip around the lake -- but Abi and Baris gave us the best ones: we will never forget seeing a bald eagle cross the rising sun on our dawn canoe expedition on day 3; or cooking bannock on a stick at the end of day 2's campfire-dinner-canoe expedition; or the wonderful food; or the plants and fungi we were shown along our hikes; or the amazing views and panoramas we were brought to.
This was our second trip with Voyageur Quest (the first one was 17 years ago) and we certainly hope to stay with them again in the future. My wife, son and I will always remember this trip, and we can't recommend staying at the Algonquin Log Cabin highly enough.

o corporate companies that are looking for a place for a team outing, I strongly advise to avoid wasting your money on this event!
The guide was late first off and had us waiting at the fairy upon arrival. The entire day she was very anti-social and lacked in basic communication that you would expect from a guide. I remember asking the guide what our next activity was, and her response was “don’t you have an itinerary”. How awkward…
We were behind schedule on everything which threw off the original itinerary. We were told that we would have to skip certain activities and would come back to it if we had time.
The water activity took around 45 minutes to set up with everyone standing around. There were supposed to be optional land activities going on simultaneously for those who don’t swim which never happened…
We were told that bathing suits and towels weren’t necessary prior to the event which is false. This is not provided and very much needed! One of our staff fell in the water when the kayak flipped, and the staff was not helpful at all.
There was a surprise 30-minute walk (maybe even longer) that we were not told about nor given the option to offer some kind of transportation for those who need that accommodation. The guide didn’t even tell us we were going on a long walk and was missing half the walk! She didn’t even mention where we were going.
The bike activity was beyond unorganized. The employee managing the bikes was extremely rude to all of us and made us feel uncomfortable. Once the bike activity was done, the tour guide decided to not wait for the last group and took everyone to lunch. Our own staff had to find the last group and bring them over to the lunch! The guide didn’t even care to go back for them.
Lunch was late which was expected given how the day was going.
To top off the day, we were left with only 7 minutes to make the ferry scheduled for 3:40pm departure. We were never given the option or told to go earlier to make the ferry. The line was extremely long we were stuck waiting an hour for the next one. One of our employees planned their trip from Ottawa (by flight) by following the itinerary provided to us and almost missed her flight.
Overall, for the amount of money we paid for the event, we are truly disappointed on how unorganized it was and our overall experience. I hope my feedback helps with your decision when considering booking this event!

We were welcomed by Jackson, who would be guiding and looking after us for the next 3 days. There were two families in our group, making a group of 8, including 4 young adults (15,16,19 and 21). It was scary and exciting at the same time as we were aware that there would be a lot of paddling over the next few days!
All the proper equipment was given to us at base, including sleeping bags and pads, and dry bags for our clothing. One tip that is extremely important - pack two pairs of shoes - one dry pair and a pair that will get very wet!
We would be canoeing ourselves and our equipment to and from the campsites and fully taking part in the setting up and breaking of camp, cooking and cleaning and portaging. It was hard work but really rewarding - the scenery of Algonquin is truly stunning.
The support given to us by Jackson was excellent. He was knowledgeable, funny and friendly, and he shared his canoe with my daughters, so I knew they were in good hands. The meals were delicious and satisfying and the evenings by the campfire were a highlight for the younger members of the group.
We all really enjoyed the three days and I would 100% recommend this trip to anyone looking for an active, outdoor holiday - the memories will stay with us forever. 10 out of 10 for Jackson!

Our first time visiting Algonquin Park and we spent 4 nights at the snowshoe cottage by the lake with our 2 little kids. The weather gods were very kind to us proving fresh snow and then wall to wall sunshine. Being off grid was just what we needed, we didn’t miss being connected at all. The cottage had everything we needed - we made sure we brought all the food we’d need. We enjoyed snowy walks, watching sunrise with the sound of the ice groaning, finding animal tracks in the snow, snowshoeing up hills, fires by the lake, but mainly peace and tranquility. Wayne was a wonderful guide with lots of ideas of activities. It was blissfully simple!

We finally returned to Voyageur Quest from overseas after 4 years: minus one child, plus one girlfriend, and both hospitality and the weather didn't let us down.
Nor did the internet! The recent addition of internet access may not have kept the e-mails away, that is a matter of pure willpower, but it did allow us to watch Messi's magic, as Argentina easily defeated Croatia in Qatar.
Most memorable was the sound of the lake singing and groaning through the night. Thanks so much to John and team for their hospitality. After several weeks of a whirlwind trip through Quebec and Ontario, skiing and visiting family and friends, the boss said this was definitely the highlight and her favourite part of the trip.

We rented the Nippissing and Island Retreat cottage with our family and few close friends. My spouse and I are avid back country campers and wanted to share this experience with those closest to us with a few more comforts then tent camping to introduce them to the beauty of Algonquin and everything it has to offer.
We were a group of 16 that ranged in ages 9-75. We had the most amazing time in mid September. We were blessed with great weather, kids were able to swim, and we all enjoyed fishing and canoeing and did a few hikes in the area, we even saw a wolf cub on our drive back to the cottage one evening after a hike. John and all the staff were amazing. They were very helpful and supportive during the whole planning process and during our stay. We had 1 dinner at their Broken Paddle Patio and the food was incredible.
We absolutely loved how this area is in a remote area, with no cell service and loved the idea of solar electricity. At first, I was worried about having no service or devices as I thought the kids might get bored and complain the whole time, but the kids played outside the entire time! Not one complaint of not having a phone or xbox. They loved exploring the outdoors. After supper they would gladly join in and play cards or a board game with the adults or read a book. Disconnecting was exactly what we all needed, and it was amazing to not only reconnect with the outdoors, but with each other as a family. Especially after the last two years during the pandemic, it was a very soothing and relaxing trip for all of us.
If you are looking to get away from the hectic lifestyle of city life for a few days to relax and enjoy the outdoors or have an intimate gathering for a commitment/wedding ceremony with Algonquin as your backdrop, Voyageur Quest is for you.
If you are looking for a place to listen to loud music, party and all the luxuries of home and stay connected then Voyageur Quest isn’t for you.
My spouse and I are already discussing a trip back next year.

3 day log cabin stay with hiking and canoeing.
Really enjoyed the 3 days, cosy, comfy cabin, lovely food, swimming in the lake and canoeing and hiking. Well looked after by Chris the chef and experienced guides Rhys and Beris.
It's such a beautiful area, so quite and peaceful really worth the long drive to get there.

Kelly and Reese were wonderful guides and terrific cooks! We were a family group of 12 with lots of old folks and youngsters with limited canoe experience and somehow they made it a great experience. They tailor the trip to your skills and requests without judgement. The trip exceeded expectations in all respects in spite of a big storm that scrambled the trip plans.

Can your cook handle anaphylactic allergies to dairy, egg, wheat, shellfish and barley? As in can one person's food be handled separately and cooked on separate gear, to avoid cross contamination? Also, do you carry a sat phone in case of emergency? How far into the park do you go on the 3 day excursion? If there were an anaphylactic event, how would the person be rescued?
