Check out this (beaver) dam trail!
Sep. 2020
This interesting trail goes to two beaver ponds. Pick up a guide booklet at the entrance to learn about the ecology. The trail is short (2 km) but there are hills, roots and rocks that make it a bit of a challenge. If your timing is good, you might spot a beaver.

Beautiful hike
Oct. 2020 • Family
Was a decent workout. Lots of roots and rocks on the path so you need to be careful. There were some decent hills. We didn’t see any beavers but was a great walk.

Saw a beaver!
Jul. 2020
Was here last week. Trail was well maintained and easy to do for us. There are some hills but not too steep. We saw multiple beaver dams, and at one of the dams there was a beaver that swam in and we were able to watch him for 20 minutes! Seeing the beaver was definetely a highlight of the hike, but the hike itself was also very nice.

Nature never cease to amaze..
Oct. 2019
We selected this trail at Algonquin Park since my daughters were young. But to my amaze, they took it with ease. Walking was tricky at times with stairs at certain places. There are park bench around the lookout point and the most amazing part was to walk through the trail with the fall colours all around you. Love the nature. Recommended specially during Fall..

Lovely walk on boardwalks and in the forest.

We had a lovely walk around the Beaver Pond Trail. It was not difficult and had many beautiful places to stop and see different sights.

Fairly easy trail.

This trail goes up and down and around a few beaver dams. It is pretty clear of obstacles, and an easy hike.

Amazing to see what beavers have accomplished!
Jul. 2019
This trail is rated 2 of 3 stars (for the level of difficulty) and that would be accurate. The trail is well marked but "gnarl" roots provide for tricky walking. There is a lot of climbing but some help in places with stairs. The view shown here is a lookout point along the way where you can sit on a park bench.

The most amazing part was seeing the edge of where the beaver dam ended and the lake was stopped at a higher level than where you were standing. Almost like a mirage! Nice trail, recommended.

Great family walk
Jul. 2019
We did this walk and two other walks with our children. This was our favourite.

It was nice and quiet and not too difficult. The ground is uneven and steep in places, so it wouldn’t be great for very young children or adults who aren’t steady on their feet.

We didn’t see any beavers, but did see the dams which was interesting. We saw a couple of chipmunks.

Make sure you wear insect repellant. We did, and we still got bitten by mosquitos!

Look back to see where you came from

Despite having to share our walk with the mosquitoes, we enjoyed our hike which does require sturdy shoes as the trail is rocky and rooty. Enjoyed both the beaver dam and lake views as well as the final lookout down toward the boardwalk where it all started.
