It is what it is

It's a landmark however not that exciting seeing that the restaurant next to it along with a lot of places in the town look abandoned

They have nothing good to buy. The inventory is so slim! This is and was a waste of time! No cars in parking lot on a saturday! Wonder why??

I'm sorry that you did not find anything in our souvenir store to interest you. We have tried hard to carry many different things. T-Shirts, Thermometers, Keychains, books, postcards, shot glasses, actual lightbulbs from the thermometer, statues, magnets, pencils, coloring books etc. If you could tell me what you were looking for that we didn't carry I would love to... We must agree that the many closed businesses in town are a very sad sight. The good news is that business in town has been picking up and we are hoping that that renovation of the Worlds Tallest Thermometer has helped. We invite you to come back and step inside our gift shop and allow us to tell you our... More

Very friendly staff with a very interesting history of Baker and the thermometer. It's a nice break when you're on the road everyone should check it out. But you have some pretty cool souvenirs.

I love the Thermometer and look for it whenever we drive to or from California/Vegas. It was inactive for awhile but seems to be working now. Fun to see how HOT it is in the summer.

Nice to see the thermometer in operation again. Was a nice 81 degrees today at noon, which you could see from both sides of the freeway.

At the Eastern edge of Baker, CA off I-15 you will find the world's tallest thermometer known as the Bunboy Motel thermometer. Originally this was a roadside attraction that sat in front of a small diner located next to the Bunboy Motel in Baker. The motel was a way-stop for weary travelers on their way to or from Los Angeles... More

Well tick this one off the bucket list. Thing was until we arrived in Baker we never knew it existed. Now, well we've been there and done that. Kind a fun to say you've seen but don't set aside more than 55 seconds to take it all in.

This is your first stop major stop traveling from Las Vegas to California. This is small town that has a couple of attractions. This is located in Baker, California. There are a couple of other attractions in this stop. It is a good stop to stretch your legs and refuel but I would not recommend this as a destination stop.

I would not have wanted to make a trip just to see this but it was accurate; 95 degrees! It's just a digital reading; it would have been cooler if it had been shaped and decorated in the shape of a thermometer, but it's something to draw your attention while you stop in Baker for gas or snacks.

There's an interesting history to this big landmark, with a free exhibition inside a small shop at the base. It's purpose was to get people to stop in Baker - it serves it's purpose!
