We really enjoyed the bike path which is paved and basically flat that follows the Kern river into the foothills. We rode two days in a row and took a different part of the trail each time. The bike path was paved, clear of debris...More

Nice enough trails as long as you come early or late to avoid the insane Bakersfield heat. You can walk and bike the area. Lots of fun!

I was in town for a few days, but "working out" at a hotel gym just doesn't do it for me. Found the Parkway Trail and I was good. Clean pathways, mostly good signage. Dark after sunset! Parking areas near the trail as well. I'll...More

28 miles along Kern river (often dry in summer). Asphalt path great for bikes, skates or just walks. Wild life abounds on much of the path.

A man made park with ponds, creeks and concerts staged there! The walkway is part of a bike trail that goes from the Kern River out to almost I -5 ! Since the drought started , the bike trail has lost some of its charm...More

We rode from the Riverbend bike shop (who were super helpful) to the end of the trail and back again and were very surprised to see how little used the trail was on a Saturday. The surface was excellent, it was all pretty flat and...More

We only walked with our dogs a short distance (about one mile) on this nicely paved trail. Would be a good place to bike ride much longer distances.

The bike trail is a great place to get some peace and serenity as well as exercise. Bring plenty of water and get ready to push yourself to your personal limits!!
