Nice enough trails as long as you come early or late to avoid the insane Bakersfield heat. You can walk and bike the area. Lots of fun!

I was in town for a few days, but "working out" at a hotel gym just doesn't do it for me. Found the Parkway Trail and I was good. Clean pathways, mostly good signage. Dark after sunset! Parking areas near the trail as well. I'll...More

28 miles along Kern river (often dry in summer). Asphalt path great for bikes, skates or just walks. Wild life abounds on much of the path.

This was the most disappointing bike trail I have personally visited. The path is paved and in good condition. However, the trail looks and feels like a landfill. Broken concrete is dumped along the edges, homeless people haunt the shrubs, and the oil derricks and...More

This Kern River trip is unforgettable! From LA, driving about 3 hours, through I-5, I-178 and I-155, you can see Kern River! It is so beautiful! Except sound of water, birds are singing a lots! Very natural, original and clean! It is good for camping,...More

We rode from the Riverbend bike shop (who were super helpful) to the end of the trail and back again and were very surprised to see how little used the trail was on a Saturday. The surface was excellent, it was all pretty flat and...More

We only walked with our dogs a short distance (about one mile) on this nicely paved trail. Would be a good place to bike ride much longer distances.

The bike trail is a great place to get some peace and serenity as well as exercise. Bring plenty of water and get ready to push yourself to your personal limits!!

I have biked on here multiple times and each time, I have enjoyed myself. There are always other people either biking, running, or walking on it. It is very relaxing and I definitely recommend everyone to go on the trail.
