This beach is certainly the best in my trip. I have visited Yantarnyy, Svetlogorsk, Zelenogradsk, Morskoye, Nida and Juodkrantė beaches, and this one is long, wide and clean.

I liked the promenad. It is built above the sea. There is almost no sand and beach. Sea, promenad and then hillside. In one end of the promenade there is a ropeway, I think it is good for older people who have difficulties in climbing...More

Yantarnyi can be translated as 'Amber Town' from 'yantar' in Russian(sounds Turkish?) for amber. The majority of world's amber comes from Kaliningrad Region btw. There is one active and the other disused (now a lake) amber quarry. There's also the amber processing plant (yantarnyi kombinat)...More

We paid a visit to a friend at Yantarnyy and she took us to the beach. It was extremely hot that day, so by the end of the walk we were positively fried. But there were graceful swans that made up for it.

It was amething to walk here. I had a de ja vu, like I an in Atlantic city. I believe, that it is very exciting to walk here any season. We liked to have a walk after lunch in Shloss restaurant.
