Stroll along the paths and enjoy California's vast variety of plants. I was so surprised at the beauty that the Golden State holds. There are many other plants from other counties and they all come together beautifully. Birds and butterflies abound and the garden is beautiful no matter the weather. Even the drippy fog adds a mysterious ambiance. Don't miss... More

Attended a wedding at the Redwood Grove at the Botannical Garden. It was a really great setting for a small wedding. Quiet, cool, private - if thinking of a wedding venue, this is a good place.

We were driving around the campus of UC Berkeley just for something to do when we came across the Botanical Gardens. What a find! We have been to many botanical gardens and this is one of the best.

This is a great place to visit if you enjoy nature, gardening, traveling or hiking. I only spent 1 hour total at the park, and I walked along many of the paths. Being on the hill, many of the paths can turn steep quickly, but there are many benches to stop and rest. You can walk to the gardens from... More

This garden is part of the University of California system and supports teaching and research. In addition, a goal of the garden is to educate the public about the world of plants and the natural environment. To that end, it does the job pretty well. And in addition, it's beautiful location to take a stroll, pack a lunch, and enjoy... More

Plan an hour or two to walk through the paths and enjoy the botanical garden. Very relaxing place to talk with friends while you are out in the fresh air.

The Botanical Gardens is quiet and beautiful. I especially like the Japanese Garden with the Salamanders in the pond. It's a lovely place for a picnic or quiet walk and conversation. Not a great place for young or energetic children. There are regular docent led walks which are both fun and interesting. Take comfortable shoes and a bottle of water.

A great place for a 2-4 hour visit, up Strawberry Canyon road behind the University of California Berkeley Campus. There is parking, then beautiful walks with views out across the San Francisco Bay.
