A walk through the Berkeley Marina offers the visitor a number of unparalleled delights. From the stunning views of San Francisco across the bay, to cool breezes on a warm day, to the great happy hour at Skates by the Bay, an afternoon at the marina is a great way to find some serenity when staying in busy Berkeley.

It was nice to go out to the marina. It is a nice and quiet path near the water. There are also fireworks on the fourth of July. Get there early!

This is a good place to take your loved ones. You can enjoy the whole day relaxing, and then eat at the nice surrounding restaurants which are very good.

This is one of the best spots in the Bay Area to enjoy spectacular views in every direction. Even on foggy days you can enjoy views of Alcatraz, the city, Tiburon and Sausalito, the Berkeley Hills, and the North Bay. There are frequent festivals (Kite Festival just last weekend) and always plenty of people out and about enjoying the trails... More

Just went down there to cool off, and was successful. We drove all around by the edge of the bay and I thought the distant views of SF and the Golden Gate bridge were interesting. My driver kiddingly said, "We'll go down to where Scott Peterson dumped the body." (That would be after he killed his wife.) It's fairly isolated... More

We go there regularly as a quick way to "get out of town" and feel the ocean air (right straight from the Golden Gate). The Marina has two sides, divided by the harbor in the middle, North (Cesar Chavez Park, lots of open space walking) and South (more structured walking, restaurants, a little park, and bait shop/sandwich shop). There's a... More

It gets windy and cold so be prepared with the right clothing. The roads are run down in the area so watch out for potholes. Best reason to go is for the view of San Francisco.

This is not a place for serious hikers. If you enjoy a stroll beside the sea, the old bridge is the place to be. We generally spend a few hours here and then go to Viks chat for food. We love the old bridge on any day.
