We walked, with dogs, the 1 1/2 mile "Perimeter Walking Trail" on a recent visit to this 90 acre park. This very nice trail is paved and wheelchair accessible. There are picnic tables and benches to relax on along the way. Great views as you go around, including one of the Golden Gate Bridge. There is a huge hill, and... More

Wonderful way to enjoy the beauty of the bay with a morning run! The indigenous birds and terrain keep it real.

My family loves going here for a variety of activities--Scenic Views, Jogging, Kite Flying, the Dog Park, and Walking on the Old Pier. Very nice for a picnic. There are tables and grills. Several Restaurants are around the Park area. Usually a bit windy. Plenty of Parking available.

A walk around it will provide you with great views of the city and the ocean. You can also have a nice picnic or fly a kite or any other activities that can take place in a park. It is a nice place to be for a few hours.

Take an hour out of your busy day and stroll the perimeter of Cesar Chavez park. The paved path encircles the park (@1.5 miles, start to finish) and will take you past kite flyers, dog walkers, birders, joggers, picnickers, kiteboarders on the bay, and just folks out for a beautiful stroll. Be prepared for wind, and bring your own water.... More

I jog around this park all the time. The wide path is smooth and everyone shares the space. The air couldn't be fresher and there are benches for resting and enjoying the views. An excellent place for those who need a flat surface for walking.

On Berkeley's lesser known parks, Cesar Chavez offers knock-out views of SF, both bridges and Marin. With a nice wide, well paved foot/bike path it also is easily accessible to those at all levels of fitness. One caution, in the Spring and Summer keep an eye out for the many Gopher Snakes that live in the park and often take... More

Recommended by my son, who is a UC Berkeley Junior and flighting kite there, we drove towards the west end of University Ave which we usually took entrance to I-80, passed a cross over bridge of I-80 highways, the Berkeley Marina is on the right, turn right to Marina Blvd, pass the double tree hotel, than left, the César Chávez... We bring our dogs here quite often. The dogs love it. We usually bring a picnic lunch and sit on top of the little hill while our dogs run around.
