This place in the spring, summer and fall ; all about feeling of the outdoors and being close to the performance.Bring a thick stadium blanket to sit on this will give you the most freedom to move around,we've tried portable chairs but they always get in you way!.Great venue to see a show but if you have a bad back I... My daughter Valen (13) has been waiting to see her favorite artist, Lauryn Hill, perform and it just so happened that she was performing at this venue with NAS. To make it a memorable experience, I decided to purchase tickets and take her to see them. We drove up from Bakersfield and were mesmerized by the ambiance of the surrounding... More

Music has been a passion of mine since I was a toddler. I have attended hundreds of live concerts, over the past four decades. Outdoor venues are my favorite destination! My daughter bought us tickets, to see The Lumineers, at The Greek Theater at Berkeley, last month. What a fantastic show, and what a WONDERFUL venue!! The weather was perfect,... More

A Berkeley gem. I love that it's outdoors, too. There's nothing like a great show on a beautiful evening at the Greek. And Cheapskate Hill is awesome for viewing and listening to shows that you can't get into for whatever reasons. An excellent mix of performers have passed through this place and continue to do so. Some of my favorite... More

There is not a poor seat in the venue! For the concerts we attended it was General Admission and seating was open. Plan on arriving a little early and bring a cushion to sit on. It is a Greek Style outdoor theater and the acoustics are excellent. There is beer and wine available as well as non-alcoholic options. A quaint... More

We recently enjoyed watching and listening to Bonnie Raitt in concert there. It was our very first visit there. We were really impressed with the theater. Quite frankly, we only learned not too long ago that it was an outdoor amphitheater. We had reserved seats some time ago, and we were glad we did that. The seats are really chairs,... More

We saw a concert here last night. The acoustics were good for out doors. All seats are close enough you don't need the extra video screens. Be prepared for a steep climb if you are sitting on the stone benches or lawn. I recommend you bring cushions or a seat that has no legs. We had these stadium seats with... More

yet another reason to love Cal and the Bay Area...stunning views and architecture; performances range from orchestral to rock; good luck getting a coveted throne seat; GA events can mean you sit on very steep lawn...wear appropriate shoes, bring blanket and seat pad for lawn or concrete ampitheater seats

The Greek Theater in Berkeley is always a fun and different way to see and hear music. The acoustics are surprisingly excellent. The staff is polite and helpful. The food choices are quite good, and there is wine and beer available. Seating in the front (Orchestra) is generally unassigned and in my opinion, uncomfortable. I recommend getting an assigned seat.... More

Really a great set up for a quaint concert. There are nice views of the Golden Gate Bridge and the city from the lawn area. They need to train the event staff on crowd management. The lines were completely disorganized and people literally rushed the entry when the general admission line opened ditching all of us that had been waiting... More
