Neighbourhood: Beverly Hills
Beverly Hills began as a modest village years ago and today you can still feel its small town origins, even though it has become a major tourist attraction and business center for the entertainment industry. This town lives up to its reputation as an area full of designer retail stores and residential streets lined with mansions and palm trees. Inside the commercial center of Beverly Hills, along Rodeo Drive, droves of tourists peak into ultra-luxurious boutiques hoping to catch a glimpse of someone famous. Off of Rodeo Drive however is where some of the most affluent Angelenos occupying the streets of Beverly Hills come for leisurely meals, power lunches and beauty treatments.

This mansion is in the heart of Beverly Hills. While only open at certain times and special occasions (check the schedule), the surrounding park and grounds are open and free during daylight hours. It's a peaceful oasis with wonderful views of Beverly Hills and Los Angeles. It's a hidden gem that not a lot of people know about, but the history of the property is as fascinating as it is beautiful.

One of the most beautiful parks and houses in Beverly Hills. We've visited quite a few places in Los Angeles and Beverly Hills. And Greystone Mansion and Park is definitely is a hidden gem. It's nice just to walk around, enjoy the garden and beautiful views of the city.

I really wanted to give this place five stars because I was so excited to see the mansion and grounds. I knew it from numerous movies. However there was no clear map to explain where stuff was. I wandered aimlessly but after a while I stopped because I didn’t want to forgot how to get back to the parking lot. I will note parking is free and the grounds and house are beautifully maintained. I’m happy it was turned into a park and is open to the public but some maps would be much appreciated.

A great morning out in LA and something that we hadn’t done on prior visits. A quick Uber from West Hollywood and a booking is required (free of charge) that we were able to secure the morning of (although I believe you need to book in advance on weekends).

It’s like being swept away to another time, such stunning grounds. You are only presently able to tour the grounds, not the mansion. Not only is it picturesque with great views, it’s fun to see the place where numerous movies have been shot (e.g. Death Becomes Her).

We completed the experience with a quick Uber ride to the Beverly Hills sign in the garden park for the ultimate touristy finale.

Visiting this place September 22 was the worst experience of my life. The man who checked reservation said that can not take pictures. I asked if can take photo on the phone he rudely replied that it was impossible. I agreed not to take a photo on my phone but he wouldn't let me in. I have been to many museums around the world, but this is the first time I have met such uncultured communication. I came on vacation from Miami and had plans to visit this historic place again. The manager in the office is very nice and she said she didn’t understand why he wouldn’t let me in.

One of the most historic mansions in California, Greystone is set on several beautiful acres in Beverly Hills.
It's a park and free to enter.
You may remember it from several TV shows and movies.
The home is not always open to the public, but you can still photograph it.
You will want to spend some time here and get those photo-ops.
No visit to Beverly Hills is complete without a visit to Greystone Mansion.

You usually get nothing for free in LA but this is 100% free & worth the time to visit, loved it, go with a guide to get the history.

While it's a huge estate, surprised at how quickly we traversed the property...perhaps due to a private event closing off part of the grounds.
