Joe is the best visitors center guide I've ever met. I've stopped by or called this center for years to get information about the area that is usually not available anywhere else. Joe knows the ins and outs of the region, gives super relevant tips and advice, and has inspired a couple adventures that I'll never forget. Thank you Joe for sharing your passion with us!

Super happy to have stopped and chatted with Joe at the Bishop Visitor centre. Had lots of laughs and wouldv'e loved to chat with him more - definitely had lots of stories and insights on our travels. He gave us some great alternatives to driving up to Yosemite (roads ended up being closed and would've ended up being a massive detour) - gave us some awesome options for campgrounds driving South towards Sequoia national park. The place we ended up setting up camp (Walker's Pass) ended up being our favourite campsite! Definitely recommend this stop.

We visited the park and visitor center while in Bishop visiting our daughter. She was teaching a young group at "Wild Roots Day School". The park is beautiful and the visitor center was open at that time. An older gentleman gave us some interesting insights into the area. It was a highlight of our visit to Bishop.

I am a PCT hiker and I initially stoped there to buy some postcards. I ended up finding great souvenirs from Bishop and the Sierra. Joe was very helpful and knowledgeable recommending where to go for what I needed. He also had really good advice about the Trail and made my stay in Bishop 100% better.
Very friendly place, highly recommend people to stop there first when they visit Bishop.

We just stopped in for quick look, but spent over an hour getting far more information than we expected and terrific advise on things to do in the area. Our brief visit far exceeded expectations. Well worth a stop.

Great place to drop in at for any questions about Bishop or the vast surrounding area. We spoke to Joe, who is uber-friendly & knowledgeable, and walked away with multiple ideas that suited our needs, interests, and limited transportation! It has a good selection of brochures, books, maps and gifts. It is also at the entrance to one of the most charming city parks I have ever seen!

In the last two weeks, I have called Bishop Chamber of Commerce twice for info about the upcoming fall color season. The first time, I called after hours and left a message on voicemail. I was surprised when Joe called me back the very next day. The second time, I got Joe on my first attempt. In both cases he provided what I needed to know and sent me resources that provided exactly the information I needed. Very friendly and helpful! If you've never been to Bishop in autumn, you're missing out! The town is cool and fun and the surrounding mountains and aspen groves are colorful and beautiful beyond description.

This place is a must stop if you're in Bishop. Great information on local hikes, food, etc. and cool gifts/novelties. Joe is an absolute gem. My car broke down in town and he was so amazing helping me locate mechanics, rides around town, and even a tow back to San Diego. I highly recommend stopping in and meeting Joe.

I was in a pickle of a situation and I went into the visitor center as a last resort and they saved me!! THANK YOU JOE & MIKE!!!

My ride to the airport feel through and I was getting ready to walk from downtown Bishop to the airport in 97degree heat with a big suitcase. I thought previously that Uber or Lyft would work because they had prices listed but both said no drivers. I had also called the Eastern Sierra Transit Authority and they stopped giving rides before I called. I was walking down the street and saw the visitor center, and I thought- they might know of another option, why not give it a shot.

I walked in and met Joe, he was so kind and heard my story and immediately said "don't you worry either myself or my good friend Mike will take you to the airport" I was so relieved and greatful for kind humans still in the world. We talked for about 30min. About life and good movie recommendations. Joe made me feel so safe and taken care of and his friend Mike was equally amazing. Mike showed up and drove me to the airport and even had a vitamin water waiting for me in the car.

I can't express how grateful I am and how amazing the people in Bishop are.

THANK YOU SO MUCH JOE AND MIKE!!!!

The visitor center exceeded my expectations! They are good people and truly care!!

We spoke with Chuck who has been in Bishop for many years. He is personable and friendly and knows everything about the area. He had many recommendations and we followed them. We loved all we did. Thank you Chuck. Also the center has some nice souvenir things for sale.
