We enjoyed a spectacular hike to the Little Lakes during a post-snow closed road season. The scenery was incredible and the hike exceptional. A "near death" experience with frozen ice on the trail reminded us southerners that water can freeze and is found in more...More

This trail is amazing. Starting at 10,000 feet you are already in the mountains. Altitude can be a problem, so be careful and read up about preparing even if just walking a mile or so.

This must be one of the most beautiful Sierra hikes and certainly gives you a huge bang for your buck. The first half mile or so is steep as you climb over the basin brim, but most of it is cut rock steps--so it is...More

We were lucky to get a parking spot at the trailhead. We thoroughly enjoyed the views on the walk and the hike was very easy. We enjoyed scrambling to the top of the rocks near the lakes for magnificent views and photo ops.

Beautiful hike, goign as far as you want, or even up to Mono Pass. Take sunscreen and water, it can get hot.

This is a gorgeous area to hike and you can get to some breathtaking views without spending your whole day hiking to a destination. Some parts of the trail are steep, but all in all, the hike is relatively easy.

The roads in the area are all very good. We don't have 4-wheel drive and it was very accessible.
