We set off yesterday morning early to walk the Numbat Trail ( if you do this , make sure you wear waterproofs to get past the initial foliage) and laughed our way through having our second shower of the day. Such a beautiful start to the trail as the sun was rising. The 12kms of this track are beautiful with... More

A well marked trail that is easy to walk. There are a few small hills but nothing too strenuous. Take water and carry some food so you can sit and enjoy soeof the great views

We visited on a very hot day, which was our major blunder. The sanctuary is lovely, but nothing special compared to the next door national parks, and on a hot day all the animals will be taking refuge (and you should too). Go early in the morning, and take at least 2.5L of fluid per person for the Quenda track.... More

We walked the Quenda track at Paruna in late July. Great time to go as the topography is quite hilly - lots of ups/downs and summer would make this a hot day's walk. The track is well marked and maintained, there were pletny of wildflowers out, including orchids, and the bird life was astounding. Saw Echidna as well, and plenty... More

This sanctuary is off the beaten track, although it could be linked with a visit to beautiful Toodyay about 40km down the road. Is it worth the journey? I think this could depend on the time of the year of your visit. We were there on a hot November day, & the 6.5km bushwalk was certainly more challenging than we... More

A beautiful and serene sanctuary an hour from Perth. There are three trails to choose from and we walked the Quenda trail which was 6.5kms. A rewarding challenge the trail is circular and hilly, climbing up to 250m. Beautiful wildflowers were out and not one single sole on the trail. The trail is rated as moderately difficult.

Make sure you book an appointment on the paruna site before travelling here as you need an access code to enter the gate. Really great place to visit, saw lots of birds and wild kangaroos.
