Many join in the local pool tournaments and enjoy some of the local and soon to be famous bands, who play here on the weekends, and in summer most... More

Cool, retro, hippy kinda bar. Full of locals, managed to find Bolinas and was suprised with how mellow and awesome it was. Everyone is really friendly in Smileys and they had a vast selection of locally brewed beers on offer!

Bolinas is a small town with incredible charm. Although most residents would rather not see tourisim you will be treeted well there. Smileys is an old building (1850's). So we knew going in that sleeping at Smiley's might be a challenge. We were happy just to be able to get a place in town so that we could surf all day and not have to drive anywhere. One thing to know is that the rooms are set back from the bar a bit and feel pretty safe, which... More

We spent a long spring weekend in Bolinas at Smileys. I loved the place. It is a funky surf motel. There is no phone or tv in the room. The furniture was old and the floor had some wierd stains and the shower was pretty bad. But it's a funky surf motel attached to a bar, and it's super cheap!... More
