Nice hike starting from Palomarin trailhead (Pt. Reyes National Seashore) leading to an amazing waterfall and ocean view. There are two ways to reach there: - either hike all the way to the Wildcat campground and then walk back to the waterfall through the beach (be careful the tide) - alternatively, at some moment on the marked path there is... This extremely popular hike sure draws a crowd. Our recent Sunday visit found ourselves being directed to available parking spots by two park rangers. Once on the trail, the hikers tend to space out and it did not seem that crowded. Unfortunately, the trail is in poor shape, with deep channels carved out by recent rains - it is easy... More

My son and I finally made the trip to Alamere Falls today to seek out the waterfalls that pour onto the Pacific beach. It was exhilarating, two hours from the Palomarin Trailhead you'll find the waterfalls. I won't lie ... the last portion down to the beach was challenging but worth it. The day was perfect for a coastal day... More

Based on the views, hiking & waterfalls alone, this would be a 5 star place. I would recommend going on a weekday though & getting there as early as possible. Otherwise, it will be you & a few hundred of your closest hiking buddies! It's not just the amount of people but the type of people too. I don't want... More

We hiked there a couple weeks ago and it's a beautiful trail. It's long but not steep, so enjoyable and and doable. The bright sides have been mentioned many times, they are all true, so let me give you some things to consider: 1. the trail is not paved and during the rain season it gets muddy. Like really muddy.... More

This place is worth the effort, no doubt. It's beautiful. The hike in isn't bad, it's hilly with gorgeous views. Upon arrival, you're met with a fun yet crawly, drop to the beach. It's not that tough, don't worry. From there it's just awesome. Thie pics do not (cannot) do it true justice. Oh, I did hear about the concern... More

I have hiked a lot of different places and this is one of my favourite. Me and my family did it on Thanksgiving. My kids who are 9 and 6 did it. 6 year was pretty beat tired after but he did it. The view is amazing and the hike is fairly easy but fun.

Keep in mind this is a 15 mile hike, so figure about 2 hours each way. Don't forget to put extra time in to actually enjoy the falls. I would recommend making this a full day trip starting at 10 a.m. for the walk. Bring a lunch to enjoy while you get there. Don't forget plenty of water and make... More

Beautiful 8.4 mile hike. We took Palomarin trail. The hike is not physically taxing; the most challenging (and steep) part is when your by the actual water falls. The trails to the falls is fairly tight and the only indication that the falls are near is a sign spelled out in rocks The drive up is winding and the turn... More
