Chateau Montalena is a beautiful winery with a nice tasting. The pictures of the facade are worth the drive in itself. Below the properties are nicely manicured gardens within the lake.

We loved wandering the property, especially the pond area. The main building is beautiful and because it was during the harvest, we got to see the giant containers of grapes being dumped into the machines. Kind of awesome!

Tasting was amazing and grounds are just beautiful. I wish I remembered the name of the woman who helped us - she was very good, informative. Make sure you check out the pretty lake and birds in the area.

If you've seen the movie, "Bottle Shock", you'll recognize the place and know a little something about the history. But even without that background, this is a great winery to visit. The pond and garden is quite serene and worth the visit on their own. The wine is good, if somewhat pricey, but the staff is knowledgeable and pleasantly guide... More

We loved the grounds here. There were Asian influences from a koi pond to pagodas. I wish they wouldn't have had the pagoda areas reserved, but it was still pretty to look at. The building itself was also beautiful, albeit small on the inside. Go for pretty pictures! Not far at all from Calistoga.

This was a tour of the vineyards including wind tasting. The wines here are outstanding and in particular the Estate Cabernet Sauvignon. Zinfandel, Riesling and Chardonnay aren't bad either! The Guide was excellent bringing to life the history to the winery and the wine making process.

You definitely cannot afford to miss this incredible 19th century castle located in Calistoga, featuring world famous Chardonnays and incredible red wines! This location offers special tours of the Castle and Winery or tasting depending on your budget and time frame selected for this spot during your Wine Country Excursion. I highly recommend their tasting where you can try five... More

There is one handicap spot total. Easier access up the hill but general parking in another area. Staffers did not want to serve me where it was closer to where the people I was attending to and told me to go up to the front which was also full. While it sounds like it has a very good reputation, it... More

This place was absolutely gorgeous!! To be honest my husband and I were a little intimidated by the tasting room and decided not to go in. There were not many people there and it seemed quite expensive so we walked the grounds and promptly left.

I received an amazing education in the history of California wine production, the art and language of winemaking, and the significance of the geography of the region. The staff did such a wonderful job of teaching me without making me feel like the novice that I was. This was a fantastic start to our tour of the region as I... More
