About
Like its more famous Yellowstone counterpart, this Napa Valley geyser erupts at regular intervals - every forty minutes, in the case of the Calistoga gusher.

I've seen Old Faithful in Yellowstone, in Iceland and now Calistoga, California. Not as big but goes off more.

We found this place traveling around Napa wine country. We enjoyed our visit. It was pretty cool. Makes me want to travel to Yellowstone and see the real one.

Seems people either really love this place or feel the opposite. My wife and I are the side that loves it. It's old school to be sure and far, far from fancy. It's a roadside attraction from yesteryear; perhaps that's the appeal for us. The...More

We stopped here on a travel trip and I thought it would be boring but it was really entertaining and my kids liked it too. We stayed about 45 min to see it a few times. Pack a picnic and have lunch when your here!

I loved seeing the geyser go off every 2-3 minutes. The chairs were very relaxing the museum informative and the goats and llamas fun.

"Old" is the operative word here. There is a geyser and it erupts on occasion but it might as well be a garden hose with a nozzle on it. When you think geyser you think Yellowstone. This is absolutely nowhere close to Yellowstone. It isn't...More

We stumbled upon this when wine tasting, an avid travel researcher, this one slipped under the radar and thrilled to see it in action. We were there early January and it was very active.

The young ladies working there were personable and friendly. That being said, the atmosphere could best be described as "run down." But both adults and kids had fun: feeding the animals, playing games, pretending to "fly" in a kid-friendly playground plane, pelting each other with...More

Thank goodness we had a Groupon. Even still it was not worth it. While the story behind the geyser may be interesting, it was like visiting a water fountain with a couple fo goats to feed. All of us were disappointed.

This was iffy when I took my kids 10 years ago but now it's even worse. The price is higher and the place is worse. They had an out-house for a toilet and the place really has nothing to recommend. It does have a geyser...More

Armstrong Woods is not too far away from Napa and gives an awesome feeling of being among the giant trees - if the kids are good "spotters", they might see the Banana Slug. It's very large and yellowish. Castello di Amoroso... More
