Castello di Amorosa is one of Napa Valley's most unique wineries. At over 136,000 square feet, the authentically-built 13th-century Tuscan-style castle and winery offers a variety of tour options including Reserve wine tours, food and wine pairing tours and a cheese and wine tour. Castello di Amorosa makes a variety of award-winning wines from its location on the hillside above Calistoga. Try "Il Barone," the wine that Robert Parker rated 94 points. The Castello also produces Pinot Grigio, Chardonnay, Gewurztraminer, Rose, Pinot Bianco, Sangiovese, Barbera, Pinot Noir, Merlot, Il Brigante blend, Cabernet Sauvignon, La Castellana Super Tuscan Blend, Il Raggio del Sole, Fantasia, Il Passito Late Harvest Sauvignon Blanc/Semillon and Late Harvest Gewurztraminer, the top dessert wine at the San Francisco Chronicle Wine Competition for two consecutive years.

This winery was recommended at the last minute before we left for Napa. SOOO glad they did. This was an amazing tour. Kerry was so much fun and made the 2 1/2 hour tour fun and informative. LOTS of good wines and suggestions for parings. Much fun and beautiful views. The castle and learning the process of winemaking was well... More

Did a tasting on the spur of the moment while in Northern CA. We had a toddler with us and chose this winery as they allowed children. The day we visited was extremely busy, with cars being directed where to park, etc. Despite the large crowd, the facility was able to accommodate our group and make our tasting very comfortable.... If you want something a little different than your average (but good) tasting experience, visit Castello di Amarosa! For $50 a person, you get an awesome guided tour of the castle, a barrel tasting and a complete wine tasting with generous pours and great explanations of the wines. We had Jason as our host and he was great! Very knowledgeable... More

TAKE THE GUIDED TOUR! Our guide was Steve and he was very informative and showed us around but he is too arrogant. I would try not to get him but I don't recommend you tour yourself because the stories are cool and educational. We walked up to the top of the castle tower, down to the dungeon and through the... This one is very popular due to the castle. The wines were good and some can only be bought at the winery as they are not retailed out. Do get one of their animal head wine pourers ... really effective -/ it's non drip and aerates the wine as it is poured.

The views were the best we seen during our three days in Napa Valley. We got to choose which wines to taste from a large offering so that was really great and we were able to walk about the castle.

First time visiting the castle and we weren't disappointed at all. We were first reluctant to take the tour (pricey at $40) but our tour guide, Ty, made it over the top fun! She was very knowledgeable about the property, seemed to really enjoy her job, and made the tour and visit to the castle the highlight of our trip... More

Picked this location for our over-the-top attraction to see in Napa. Given the extreme costs for wine tasting around here, this wasn't a bad value for your entertainment dollar. Lovely views, fun facility to wander, and decent if overpriced wines.

The Castello is the best wine experience in Napa. Although I didn't want to spend 25 dollars to do a self tour and tasting I am glad I did. It is a totally Authentic castle from the 12-13th century made the way they did back then. Coming up the driveway past the Italian cypress trees and olive trees makes you... More

This place is very unique and the history of how the castle was brought here brick by brick is amazing. We wanted to do the guided tour, but the wait without reservations was just too long. MAKE RESERVATIONS if you want the guided tour. Otherwise it is a self guided tour for $25 including 5 tastings. The wine they make... More
