Oropendula waterfall is absolutely beautiful and the views from the hanging stairs/bridge are amazing!

About a 2 km walk return to view this waterfall, dropping 82 ft down to a lovely pool below. Swimming is available there, water is cool and refreshing. Worth the walk. Swing bridges made it a little more exciting :)

This waterfall is a must see. You can swim in the beautiful pool of water and it is an incredible experience. It feels cold at first but it is great once you get used to it. It is too beautiful to not do it!

We hiked to this waterfall and swam at its base. Amazing experience that we're still talking about. Highly recommend

This is a nice waterfall but not the best we have seen here. The walk to the falls while short, can be difficult for Seniors or anyone with mobility issues. There is a step type hanging bridge to cross. The viewing area is small. You can go down a staircase to swim but from what we could see and were told, it is extremely cold. We did this site as part of a $54 pp package that included the falls, buffet lunch (very good) and hot springs. This did not include transportation but had a rental car. Admission to the park was a little less than $5.

The waterfall is on private property so you pay 700 colones per person to enter the grounds.
The only way to see the waterfall is to get a free lunch. The price is USD43 per person! Expensive entry to a small waterfall. After paying, you get a wrist band and drive 5km up the road. There is security there so you can park with stuff in the car. Very easy walk to the stair bridge that takes you to the viewing platform. Small platform that makes it easy to access the water but takes away from the look of the waterfall. Hard to get a picture of the falls without it in it. There was a group of 5 already on the platform when we arrived so a little crowded but not bad. If you aren’t swimming, the whole thing takes 10 min.
Back to where you paid for lunch. Pretty setting but the food on the buffet isn’t great. Don’t eat the pasta - dry rubber - not sure how long it had been there. The chicken was tasty. The bar downstairs had craft beer.
Overall, the waterfall is pretty (not the best in CR) so if you are passing by then stop in but otherwise don’t go out of your way.

Nice waterfall that can only be reached via a hanging bridge. The platform constructed for the visitors detracts from the natural beauty of the location. It's a busy spot with lots of people coming for a quick pic or swim. But not z place to really sit down, relax and enjoy nature. Also not the most spectacular waterfall we've seen during our trip but worth a visit if you happen to be in the neighborhood. We wouldn't advise planning a special trip to see just this place.

Our family (3 teen boys) absolutely loved this majestic waterfall that we could swim in and jump into a crystal clear natural pool. So fun!

Beautiful waterfall. Try and go when the sun hits the small pool of water at the bottom. Bring a swimsuit if you want to take a quick dip. The hanging bridge was as much of a photo op as the waterfall.

This was a side escursion we took at the end of our trip, and wish we could have spent more time here. It was recommended by several locals we met in Tamarindo. It was an easy, short hike, sidewinding down to a serene area with a cystal clear pool under the waterfall. There was a ladder to use to get into the water--it felt amazing! Only wish we had more time to spend swimming there under the waterfall. Don't forget to dress to swim! It's an easy hike, but not sure if I would reccomend this for families with small children. The ladder is steep and the rocks can be a little slippery. It would be a great escursion for couples or families with teens.
