Small park with well-kept wide trails and a Footbridge. overlooking San Elijo Lagoon. You will often see mullets jumping out of the water and some waterfowl. We even saw a crab once. Cute little Visitor Center and a living roof on top! Nice little respite...More

This is a small well maintained natur preserve: attention to local history and lagoon life. Docent gives tours, plenty of benches and signs educating young and old about local nature. The preserve is busy with dog walkers, young families and bird watchers . Level path,...More

This is at the west end of a larger reserve, there are great nature trails where you may take your dog on a leash. It is also possible to take trails from here under the freeway and accross to Ranch Santa Fe.

Great walking trails with so much to see. Migration season are prolific, but there will plenty to see and enjoy. Our favorite is watching the white pelicans collectively herding their fish.

The lagoon is a pleasant place to walk and watch birds, and a good place for a toddler to run along and use up energy. Staff in the nature center were friendly and helpful.

I spent several hours walking the trails here one morning on a recent trip to the area. Quite enjoyable! Most trails are not particularly difficult. There are some short trails that would be acceptable for people with physical limitations too.

I like the walking paths and the small museum. The kids seem to like playing with the fiberglass geological model where they pour water on the mountains and it runs down to the ocean.
