Carp State Beach is always busy during the warmer months and is real popular with locals and tourists. Try 'the spot' for an excellent fast food meal just down the road afterwards. Try to get their before or around noon if you're thinking about it. Parking fills up around the local streets pretty quickly and it's much easier to carry... More

Visiting in January, we found a sunny day and headed to this beach. It has a little bit of everything. There is a park right before the beach, volleyball area, picnic tables, and it is just a short walk to the ocean. There were quite a few people for just a 70 degree day. The ocean had kids splashing in... More

Our second trip and camping on the sand. Very nice beach. Shelling was good as a storm had just passed through. Great campground.

We have been coming to Carpinteria, from the LA are for many years. Love the town, the beaches, camping etc. The sunset is magnificent, the tide pools are great to explore with kids. As long as you are a responsible, pet owner, your dog will love running in the sand.

We were able to find our way down to the beach from our hotel and it was really nice. Easy access and not crowded at all although we were there in December. They have an awesome playground that we will be bringing our kids to the next time we drive thru on the 101.

as public beaches go, this one is great--very long and spacious, where you can catch some sun, have a long stroll or run, and do some great surf fishing year round. it's within walking distance of some worthy eateries and other attractions as well. the beach is often windy, but often quiet, too.

Always a great place to visit. Has both day use for the beach plus overnight camping. Easy walk into town for food and drink.

We actually parked just outside the park and walked along the path. There is nothing remarkable about this strip of beach. A short walk will take you to an overlook of some harbor seals (you smell them before you see them).
