Accessibility
Mar. 2020
For those worried about accessibility- if you have a wheel chair or other disability that makes climbing stairs difficult, ask an employee and they will direct you to a ramp. The museum employees are super friendly and will be happy to help.

Great place for kids unless they are differently abled.

Webb School has done a great job making this wonderful dinosaur museum. The only negative is it is not accessible. There are 3 stairs necessary to get into the main floor after a very long walk to and then up a very long ramp. There is no elevator to get to the lower level exhibits. Fix this!

okay, focused on conclusions
Jan. 2019 • Couples
A place my partner wanted to see. It was nice enough, as I am sure other reviewers will detail. Looking at the displays was fine, but afterwards I was disappointed that focus was on conclusions about time and evolution, with minimal information about provenance of the artifacts and how they advance the general body of knowledge.

BTW, we came by bus; google maps thought the early/late commuter bus ran all day (which it doesn't) so we had a mile+ hike to get there. Cross-check the Foothills bus schedule to not be surprised!

Dinosaurs Dinosaurs Dinosaurs

Who would guess that a small local museum at a private high school would have an international recognized collection of dinosaurs artifacts? But they do. It worth a visit just to see the large stone in the entry way that has the fossil footprints of a small dinosaur or bird.

Hidden Gem
Jan. 2019 • Family
We had such a fun afternoon at the Alf Museum. My son loves dinosaurs and was amazed at everything there. They had some fun interactive kid friendly activities like digging for fossils in the tar pit, Dino skeleton building, dinosaur sound making and more. It’s a small place but a must see!

We LOVED it!
Sep. 2018 • Family
We stopped in here while visiting family and had a great time. We were five adults and one toddler and we all learned something new at the museum and the toddler loved every minute. I honestly would have enjoyed staying even longer than we did, it was very interesting.

A pleasant little gem
Aug. 2018 • Couples
This museum is a little gem devoted to paleontology. It is on a high school campus and consists of two floors, one devoted to bones and the other to tracks. Some of the exhibits are actual fossils (many of them were very impressive) and others are casts. The exhibit is notably well labeled in a way that anyone can understand. There is enough information to make the point but not so much to be long-winded or confusing. I’m glad I went.

Jurassic family fun!
Jul. 2018 • Family
Found this hidden gem after visiting my grandmother in La Verne. How did I not know this place was there? It’s located on the Webb campus in Claremont; such a beautiful campus. Went with my two children (ages 9 & 11). Having just seen Jurassic World last night, I think it made it even better! Upstairs has lots of fossil replicas and downstairs there are more hands on experiences. We even got to see volunteers casting a fossil. Staff was knowledgeable and answered all of our questions.

If you like old bones you’ll love this!

Great little gem in Claremont. The Webb is a closed campus college but the museum is just off the parking lot. It’s not huge but we spent 2 hours there. There are interactives for kids and adults alike. Great footprint tracks. The most traffic was late morning- there were maybe three other families besides us. Free parking but stop in front of the guard house even tho there is no stop sign.
Downtown Claremont was the perfect next stop for lunch and shopping and just beautiful.
