It doesn't look like much from the outside, but the main building has so many rooms, all of them chock full of local and California history: the gold rush, mining, logging, our indigenous people and tribal life. Then you get to see the other building...More

Summer events are very good and there are several unique businesses year round. You may find the fall tarantula festival fun and you can actually hold one of the fury little guys. Zander's has good coffee and the restaurant in the village is very good.

We were here for the Peddlers fair. Loved all the booths and the permanent shops. Everyone was very friendly and lots of nice stuff. The owner Diane does a great job.

Coarsegold is a very small, quaint town. Hwy 41 runs right thru it, so it can be very busy at times with traffic. There are a few quaint shops but really nothing worth stopping except....The Wild Fig Kitchen! What a wonderful find for breakfast and...More

Our winters are normally mild with very little snow, and the roads are always open. It's only from Oakhurst north that chains are sometimes required.
