See the title..... plus the beaches are pretty impressive as well. And you should visit "the Del" to get a look at the lobby and dining room with the giant crown chandeliers. Very pricey (overly so?) to eat or shop there, but worth a look.

Coronado Beach is my favorite beach in all of San Diego. It is relaxing easy to walk on and has a beach at the very end for dogs. Restroom facilities, volleyball nets, and plenty of sand.

I didn't want to leave the island! Lots of fun shops and great eats, and the beach is phenomenal. Check out the bay side, too

We drove from Las Vegas to visit San Diego and Coronado Island. We drove straight to the beach so we could see the sunset! Thank goodness, as it wasn't very sunny the few days we were there. My kids had a blast putting their feet in the ocean and seeing the sunset. They had never been to the ocean before.... More

The comedy Some Like it Hot was filmed here and around and in the Hotel Del Coronado. I stayed there in 1970 and thoroughly enjoyed the ambiance from the outdoor tennis courts, beach to the inside "birdcage" elevator. A must see if you are travvelling from LA to San Diego....well worth it.

We visited Coronado Island as part of the Old Town Trolley Tour and stopped for a short while. The beach is lovely but there must be more to it than we saw for it to feature in the top ten US beaches list. The hotel was worth a look just for the movie link. There are some lovely houses to... More

I lived here when I was 1 years old. My old house had been torn down and replaced w a beautiful one. The main shopping district downtown is quaint and fun to walk. Of course "the Del" is breathtaking. Going over the bridge is fun fun.

Not sure that I would come here unless I was already going to be here or headed here as my destination. It is pretty, and upscale, nice beaches, a few good restaurants - but not much else to do..... sort up the upper end/wealthier side of Imperial Beach -- probably worth a drive through -- and of course you can... Coronado is a lovely place. We have visited Coronado on a sunny day and the skyline view of San Diego was just tremendous. Streets were clean, houses were well designed and seems like this island is hosting wealthy people of the region. If you want to see San Diego from a distance just like watching New York City from Boorklyn... More
