My lovely wife spent a day here in gorgeous 68 degree weather. We rented bikes (very reasonable at 8 dollars an hour) and rode around much of the island. Parking is limited and the meters need refilled at 2 hours to make sure you watch your time and drop more quarters .. but its only $0.25 an HOUR so I... More

Coronado Island reminds me of Key West, Florida, without the humidity. There is a large Spanish influence of the architecture of buildings and homes. It's quaint, charming and welcoming. Multitudes of trendy boutiques with quality merchandise. Restaurants galore from inexpensive to expensive. Mexican, American, Italian, French food available. Health and fitness are core values in this area. It's a pet... More

We were on the island four days straight for a swim competition and by day three the sun came out and it warmed up. We enjoyed our electric bike ride immensely and walking around after was easy and fun. Lots of little restaurants and shops, a great local bookstore, ice cream shops, a theatre, darling homes, and relaxed atmosphere.

Wow, great beach town, miles of sand to walk on, bike trails to ride....great restaurants, shops. The beach was fantastic for a long walk even though it was not warm enough to swim.

Stop by the back of the Coronado Inn at dusk, grab an adult beverage and stroll to the beach. The sunsets are spectacular and the walk along the beach is one you'll never forget!

Coronado Island is definitely and deliberately an exemplar of a throwback to a 1950s California beach town mentality. It's clean, safe and pleasant enough but feels a bit artificial for a longer stay. But one of the least desirable features of this throwback mentality is that traffic is king here. The least safe part of visiting the island is the... More

We took the ferry from downtown to t his beautiful place. There are some quaint shops and we walked to the other side aof the island about a 45 minute walk. The beaches are beautiful and it is worth while visiting the Coranado hotel which was famous in the forties and fifties where an array of film stars stayed. We... More
