I adore this place. Exterior is beautiful with a peaceful surrounding. Interior is fantastic with many original furniture and paintings. I strongly recommend to those who have an interest especially in baroque style

The castle is well worth a visit. Inside are several rooms richly furnished and a collection of paintings and antiques. Outside, the scenery is pleasant, with the lake as a backdrop.

They have English audio tour. There was also a nice lunch in site. The castle is beautiful and is a must see.

Day trip from Stockholm. Very interesting history with part of the castle remaining incomplete. Rooms filled with antiquities and lavish paintings.

I checked the website, there was no info on the renovation mid September. The castle was close for public and it had scaffolding on the main elevation. Therefore i can not comment on interior and the exterior is nice but nothing to mark you. Not...More

This castle is a great half-day trip from Uppsala/Stockholm. It overlooks the lake and has a very unique castle yard.

This area is full of castles but this one is the most amazing. A tour may be helpful, but wandering through it on your own is a pleasure too. Pick up a guide in your language for more details. The treasures within are amazing and...More

Beautiful location on Lake Malaren and easy to visit from Stockholm, Sigtuna (by bus) or Uppsala. I went by boat from Uppsala and what a lovely trip it is along the River and into the lake before eventually arriving at the Castle.

It was a very interesting castle with plenty of rooms. We had a group tour (about 1 hour) and it felt a bit rushed like the guide just want to keep on time. I would have liked another hour to see more of the rooms...More

Questions & AnswersAsk a question
Would like to do Skokloster and town of Sigtuna on the same day. How did you do it? Boat only makes quick stop at Sigtuna before going to/from castle (then on to Stockholm) but would like to see the town for a couple of hours. Advice? Thanks.

Hi, you should rent a car it s about 30 min from sigtuna to the castle. Agree the boat schedule is too short..
