The R. M. Bohart Museum of Entomology is located on the University of California, Davis campus. The museum is dedicated to teaching, research and service. We have the seventh largest insect collection in North America, which is worldwide in coverage. The collection holdings total approximately seven million specimens, and focus on terrestrial and fresh water invertebrates. The museum is home of the California Insect Survey, a storehouse of the insect biodiversity of California’s deserts, mountains, coast and great central valley.

This is a small dept.with a huge collection of insects. If you're brave, you can hold a tarantula. Great friendly people who are trying to support their collection and will welcome visitors.

Tucked away and not easy to find on campus. If you are curious about bugs this is the place to go. The entomology expert took the time to show us not only some of the specimens, but also took out a female Australian walking stick...More

The museum is actually in a classroom/lab area among other classrooms. Make sure you check for the hours that the museum is open! They sell prints, t shirts, mugs, and a few pieces of jewelry, and it is all for an excellent cause! Promote entomology!...More

This is a fun place to take children and adults who are interested in walking sticks, butterflies, etc. Great small venue; nothing to dislike....a great tiny museum with hours open to the public.

This is actually a working entomology lab, that lets visitors in. Staff are going about their business while you look around the displays, which are not very numerous or extraordinary. Nonetheless, it is OK for a short visit with kids; not much to touch though....More

I took my grandchildren to see the insect exhibit & as we left my 4 year old grandson said, "Nana, that was awesome!" Very gratifying for a grandma & what better endorsement does one need!

apparently small museum but very reache of collections of many entomologic species especially butterflies. Scientists inside are really kind and always available to guide peoples inside the museum where you can also find many strange gifts and tshirts. VERY GOOD
