I live near this beach park and go often. It is a true beach park with grassy picnic areas, play structure, and restrooms all steps from the beach in Del Mar. It's located in downtown Del Mar which means there are places for lunch (not...More

Easy access (30sec walk) to beach from parking. A train runs through the parking (little scary...but the requisite lights and sirens are sounded and the barriers to cross the tracks come down). Small but sufficient child play area available near entry to beach. From entry...More

This park is great because it has beautifully soft grass and sand and beach access. My family had a great time lounging in the grass, playing football and walking on the beach. We enjoyed watching the surfers ride the waves.

We went at night. The restaurant that adjoins it has huge flood lights that light up the waves, what a romantic night stroll, Open 24/7. Parking is pricy and hard to find. Otherwise a very upscale beach.

This beach has everything - a beautiful sandy beach, surfing, lifeguard, bathroom, grass area, benches to watch the sunset, and a playground. The biggest difficulty is parking - if you can find it, it is expensive and don't even think of letting your meter run...More

Pack a lunch, walk through on your way to one of the several beachfront restaurants. Watch the surfers or the dolphins, catch a sunset - it's the perfect location.
