For a first time hike, this was excellent. It was less than five miles to the stone house and back, and even had clean bathrooms available. It was a morning walk, about 10:30am and hot, but with a couple bottles of water and just tennis...More

This was an easy hike up to a little stone house. The bathrooms at the stone house were the nicest park bathrooms I have ever used. It would be pretty easy with kids.

There is not much to do except hike, if the youngsters are able to explore & enjoy the outdoors then try it. The Whitewater preserve is close, and that might be better for them.
