We spent a few hours on several of our vacation days here - surfing and reading on the beach. Parking is near impossible at this popular spot so be prepared to walk a ways. We dropped off boys and surfboards in the lot and then found parking. Surfing for intermediate to advanced most days. Fun to see people hanging hammocks... More

It is worth the trip to Swami's from Anywhere because it isnone of the best views along the coast and one of the great surf spots of the world. The likes of Rob Machado surf here. Parking is a challenge but it is worth the wait even to stand up top and look down. It is quite a walk down... More

Anyone who knows the history of surfing in California knows Swami's is one of those famous breaks you have to visit... Easy beach break, locals mostly laid back... great spot to bring the family and enjoy a session.

Famous reef, great waves and wonderful walking beach. Take a walk down the steps and walk south to the state park and San Elijio Lagoon. You can then go back up onto the 101 and walk back to Swami Beach along the top of the cliff, nice walking path, beautiful views. next to the Coastal highway.

Visit one time just for surf and it was a very good day. Plenty waves and water not so cold. Really beautiful beach by the way.

The only drawback to this very lovely place is the very long flight of steps down to the beach. But everything else about Swami's is lovely. Unlike Moonlight Beach it has very little in the way of amenities, except for two bathrooms in the very small parking lot, a couple of picnic tables, a lawn area, and some benches overlooking... Wonderful place to watch the waves, surfers, etc. I am a boogie boarder and love it here. So different from the beaches to the North or South. Paradise!!

Swami's beach has great waves and attracts many surfers. My days for surfing are way behind me, but there are comfortable benches up near the parking lot, and it was fun to sit up there and watch.

The most popular place for surfing in Encinitas. Always crowded but very very excellent. Also the beach is very nice
