Stopped by after a trip to the wild animal park. This is a lovely small vineyard. My husband and I did a tasting flight of 6 wines each. I loved several of the white wines and left with several bottles.

We paid 10 dollars to sample a couple wines and received a complimentary glass. The service was not personal, but it was expeditious and friendly. Unfortunately, we did not like any of the wines, and we sampled the whites, reds, and dessert wines. It was...More

Orfila is the perfect place to stop after the San Diego Safari Park. Southern California is not known for exceptional wines, but we were really pleased and happy with our wines from Orfila. They charge $10 for a tasting, but you get 6 wines (very...More

We’ve long enjoyed Orfila in Escondido for its beautiful picnic grounds, but for a time we could barely find a wine that satisfied our craving for earthiness and distinguishable tannins. This changed gradually but we’ve never been as impressed as we were this month. Of...More

We stopped by Orfila Winery on our way to Julian to taste and grab a half gallon of the cider they are so famous for. We tried some reds and a port (which we bought) but were very disappointed about the pourer's lack of knowledge...More

I am not a wine expert, it was my first visit to a vineyard. I sampled the wines and bought a few bottles. I found the people very knowledgeable on wine, in which I am not. I enjoyed the visit.

Your outside, pack a cooler if you plan on spending time there instead of buying cheese or whatever else they sell food wise. Just at least purchase a bottle or so if your sitting there, common courtesy.
