Finding a non-corporate bookstore is difficult these days. This place is a jewel. They have a large variety, new and used and unusual notebooks, some created out of re-purposed old hard bound pulp novels from 100 years ago. I bought 3 writing books from them...More

Three weeks before my daughter left for a 2 year stint in the Peace Corps we took a mother-daughter road trip chock full of camping, hiking and exploring. We treated ourselves to one night in Eureka. At this beautiful store they actually had books on...More

Rated as one of the best book stores in the country. Truly. Owners and staff take pride and are experts. This place is a treat for all visitors. You do not even have to read to enjoy this spot. Old maps, postcards and collectible books.

This is without doubt a beautiful building and an inviting space to visit, if only they had a cafe you wouldn't need to leave. Great range, great people. I purchased a novel and a journal - now see it does inspire you

I liked the way the store has set up the displays -- one for new releases, one for discounted books, and several others on tables as you walk in. 5 of us strolled in, browsed and bought a total of ten books...happy bookworms!

What a beautiful bookstore to peruse. If they don't have something they can order it...with a smile.

Walking past, I stopped to peruse the various books in the "discount cart" parked out front, and after a moment or two heard someone in a deep, commanding voice say, "Psst -- you. Yes, you there!" I looked up, only to find a vintage Fortune...More
