Nice, fair, interesting course

Would play again..Liked the layout, fairness, yet challenging nature you need with accurate, thought-out shots--Not a grip it and rip it place.

Having played The Golf Club of CA since it opened in 2002 I have gone through the good times and the bad and now the just OK. As an ex-professional golfer I have played 100s, maybe 1000s of different courses and can honestly tell you that The Golf Club is one of the most interesting and fun courses you will... More

In this era of golf courses being under financial distress, this is one course that tries to put the golf experience paramount. The greens are quick but fair, nothing tricked out. The approaches aren't hampered by an excess of green side bunkers like JN's courses. There are some holes that are difficult, e.g. #6 very uphill making me always swing... More

Following a pleasant Sunday with friends at their place in Oceanside, we booked to play golf at noon at this course ... pro shop check in was "painless" (both friendly and professional), the course was in good shape (except for hole # 1 with a temporary green) - and several choices on teeing grounds starting points, given that we prefer... I recently played this course and found it very challenging and a great course to play. This is a good course to practice your straight ball because it is best to hit them straight.

This course is a hidden jewel in North San Diego County. Even in winter it is in good shape and the course layout makes you play a great variety of shots. An enjoyable round of golf.

Got a warm welcome at the Proshop and paired up with a single who knew the course. Each hole is a different challenge and quite often a long drive from the last one. Really enjoyed the round.

Used to be a great course when first opened! It was a private membership course and then after a couple of years and change of ownership? It isn't the pristine course course it once was.. Fun course to play and nice for a public course.. Bar and banquet area are great.. Wonderful place for weddings and gatherings..

This long, well maintained course offers expansive fairways and many hazards and very well protected greens. The course layout was well thought out and interesting at every single hole. We enjoyed the beautiful vistas at every turn. There are 5 tee off blocks to suit various levels of play - however be warned...its a challenging course for sure.

Since we were in Escondido, we were looking for a new Golf Course to play and found the Golf Club of California. If you are a long hitter, this is a place for you!!! If you are not a long hitter, don't let your ego get in the way and play the more forward tees and it will be more... More
