Informative and sweet little operation that proved a hit with 2 four year olds (and their parents) The secret hit though was the panning for gold. Run by a brilliantly engaging local woman who really opens up the local history.

This unique venue offers 1 hour steam train ride that is informative, peaceful and fun. The venue also has a small museum a couple of gift shops, panning for gold for kids and a commissary for grabbing a sandwich on your way into Yosemite

Great staff - friendly and engaging. Interesting historical commentary from the conductor. A mix of open and covered carriages. Take a covered one if you want to keep out of the sun!

We had the 1h tour on the logger train. I thought the trip was a bit short considering the price of the tickets, but it was excellent and well narrated. There was little else to do - the Jennycars follow the same route, the museum...More

A nice place to spend a couple hours (the actual trip on the train lasts an hour which includes a ten minute stop within the forest). There is a great commentary throughout the trip which provides the history of the lumber in Sugar Pine and...More

We made a point of stopping here, because I wanted to ride behind a vintage Shay in the West (I'm a big fan of Cass Railroad in West Virginia). The ride wasn't long - only an hour - but one still gets a good feel...More

The ride I have experienced for years is about an hour; with a short stop half-way for trackside restrooms and the taking-on of water for the steam engine. I have never ridden on anything but the Shay steam engine, nor... More
