The nature is beautiful but the river is clogged with people you hope to avoid in your spare time. This is really a must-miss unless you don't mind watching the worst of America chugging beers. It took 1 hour from the moment we stood in...More

We called ahead to reserve and get the details which they recommend. We have kids 8, 10, 12 15 so we got two canoes which was perfect. They suggested we bring towels for younger kids to sit on which was a good idea. It was...More

So glad we did this. We rented a canoe and 2 kayaks (There were six of us). They give you a window of time to check in, but get there early. Once you launch, the adventure begins! There's lots of little places to beach your...More

My daughter and I rented a canoe and traveled down the river. It was an enjoyable trip and we were able to pick our spot on the river to rest, swim, and eat our lunch. I would not recommend this trip for parents with small...More

Burkes was my first canoe trip on the Russian River (and first anything on the Russian River) and it was perfect. The staff made it easy to get going right away. They have a perfect location for first time canoeing with fairly still waters (at...More

Canoeing as fun, if a bit crowded over July 4th. Good guidance and prep, safety honored first. A fun time was had by my family.

This is a great way to see 10 miles of the beautiful river, get some exercise, some sun, and not kill yourself (I am in my 60's). I can't think of a better way to get close to nature. Best time is weekdays when it...More

We didn't see any people with dogs in their canoes! And if there are dogs at any of the private beaches, canoe renters are not allowed to land there anyway.
