Thoughtless visitors to Glass Beach, once one of California's most unexpectedly beautiful locations have taken away the glass and left mostly bits and pieces. The story goes, Glass Beach was the city dump for Ft. Bragg for most of the 20th century. When the garbage...More

I love beach and my husband like driving so we both enjoy the trip to Fort Bragg. A lot of turns from Hwy 101 and local people drive so fast. The glass is mostly gone but the view is breath taking. Think twice if you...More

Great sport for beachcombing and looking for "treasures" of old glass that was thrown away and then broken and polished by the waves over the years. Very easy to find, turn west toward the ocean at the Denny's on Elm Street. Low tide is best....More

Great to see the waves and to play in the tide pools. Would recommend this for families who want to enjoy the ocean view.

My fiance and I went to this famous beach to view the beach glass amongst the sand. The only beach with substantial amounts of the beach glass is closed for unknown/unposted reasons. It appears to be under construction, but no information was given. If there's...More

We visited just as the sun was setting, and it was absolutely glorious! There are some lovely walking trails to enjoy this gem.

Free, right near downtown, and original - even if you're just driving through, include this short walk and beautiful ocean view in your trip. Get close to the rocky beach to check out the seaworn glass colors

Very cool beach and hiking trails. Dog friendly but they must be on a leash at all times. Some areas of the beach still has glass shards but your initial reaction might be "where's the glass?". Don't know why everyone has to take something home....More

The stairs to site 2 (the best glass beach cove) is closed with no access and no explanation. After planning a 9 hour trip for this destination over Christmas, very disappointed there was not anything posted online noting this.

I'd say the walk from the parking lot to the cliff is 2-3 city blocks. Pretty easy. The walk down the cliff isn't terrible, but can be a little tricky depending on the side you go down.

The easiest access is down a path from the parking lot. It dead ends at a short downhill trail to the beach.

I don't know. It's a public beach; I don't remember seeing any signs that said no dogs, and I saw dogs being walked in the parking lot, but I don't know about the beach itself.
