The beach is beautiful and many people seemed to be looking for and gathering stones and/or glass, but I did not see any color. But we did not dig or move stones around, so we may have merely missed it.

We saw people walking off with what glass pieces are left. Too bad. Still it's a nice coastline, although without the glass, there are nicer stretches along the northern California coast.

I found the history to be more interesting than the beach itself. Perhaps it's been too picked over or the time we visited (10 AM) doesn't show off any sparkeling "sea" glass. The surf and the rock outcroppings were beautiful.

The original glass beach to the south is closed off to the public so we walked to the beach north of the paved trail. We had to ask someone which beach it was since it's not marked. Once on the beach you have to sift...More

There indeed was a lot of glass mixed in the beach sand but unfortunately the beach is very dirty and smells horrible. It is still worth going and has a nice easy path.

Unless you climb down to the waters edge you wont see any glass.. its a cool place to stop after having lunch at the local Brewery.

Before going here I read up on the beach via TripAdvisor. People seemed disappointed that there were no glass. Our experience was that there was actually lots of glass still to be found around the beach. You can't expect to find large heaps of big...More

The glass at this place has been picked over and the photos you see advertised must be 20 years old. I didn't even waste my time taking pictures

We actually made a detour to visit this beach based on the photos we saw online. We were somewhat disappointed when we first pulled in but the glass is still abundant and we picked some with our two-year old which was fun! Don’t make it...More

This famous beach is a let down, its dirty and unkept. A local told us that the real Glass Beach has been closed to the public and that whilst the beach is called Glass Beach its not the proper one

Go to the left after you park. There is no easy way if you take the right, there are a lot of steep stairs and rocks...and then a slight drop off. I did not take the left....others will need to answer to that path. Have... More

The easiest access is down a path from the parking lot. It dead ends at a short downhill trail to the beach.

I don't know. It's a public beach; I don't remember seeing any signs that said no dogs, and I saw dogs being walked in the parking lot, but I don't know about the beach itself.
