It is a part of historic Glendale, and sits on Brand Blvd., near many restaurants and shopping. It reminds me of the Pantages Theatre in Hollywood, except that I can walk to the Alex.

The Alex theatre is old but well taken care of. It has an interior/ exterior courtyard. There was a red carpet and many people taking and drinking while waiting for play yo begin. Has upstairs and downstairs. Great place to see a play!

Saw a Mindy Kaling Live Talks LA book talk here and absolutely adored the venue. Really cool historic theater with amazing architectural features and a great concessions stand (including $4 beers! Great for LA!).
