Had friends from SoCal visiting and took the group for lunch. Thought the hotel would be a good choice Because of the history. I thought it would be hard to ruin salads and sandwiches but they were able to destroy both. Take a walk through the bar and lobby but pass on the food

Nice sized rooms to accommodate big groups. We have rented the Holbrooke Hotel several times in the past for weddings, and Christmas parties. There is a bar for anyone to partake. Great atmosphere

This is a historic hotel in our little town and has passed hands through time. The current owner loves his music and prefers to perform in the hotel bar than run a hotel. The rooms are very vintage and overall hotel is very quaint, BUT not very clean and guests are last on owners list. Very sad as this hotel... More

First I must say they do not care about clients as they feel they don't need to. This is a classic antique hotel but it is run down in many ways. Sitting in the lobby I see patches all over the ceiling. I called them a few hours after checking out as I left a valuable in my room. I... More

We eat outside on the back patio this summer. The food, especially the fish & chips, was excellent. Prices are higher than similar venues here in Grass Valley, so you need take this into consideration. The only problem we had outside was someone smoking at a nearby table. We moved closer to their outdoor fan to avoid it.

With regrets I have to say Holbrooke Hotel has seen better times. As a bar it might be fun and it certainly has a ton and a half of historical hugs...The food is good. I can recommend the burger and sweet potatoe fries. The ambiance for this non drinker, on several recent occasions over this summer (2015) were not favorable.... More

This lovely old hotel contains an historic bar in the lobby that serves fantastic food. We discovered that most places in Grass Valley are closed on Monday so we just walked around and stumbled into this place looking for a beer. We were so surprised to see the extensive lunch menu and decided to take a chance. Wow! Homemade flavorful... More

This is a interesting hotel, it is haunted! I liked to go to the restaurant there, they have great salads. The blue cheese dressing is fantastic. The waiters/waitress are top notched!

Not the best but a nice place to take tourists. Old carpet when you go in the lobby but a nice place to dine outside on patio. Wish they would update his historic hotel. Saloon is great with the old antique bar of old wood. wish they had better happy hr prices and was consistent in their food one day... More
