Wow - this museum maybe small, but it is packed with great information about the area. We have little ones and they absolutely loved the animal skins they could feel as well as the interactive dioramas. They have a nice little gift shop as well.

Very welcoming staff. She said the community worked together to make the museum. It is small but very well put together. She turned on a movie for the kids about the California gold rush. The kids enjoyed the animal pelt display. If your in the area it's a great place for a quick stop and you can't beat the price...free.

A three star because it is small and not a destination. It is worth a stop though on your way to Yosemite. Step back in time. Everyone waves. Friendly and rustic.

They have some great local historical knowledge, photo's and cool stuff for the kids. The gold mining history is on display and they have an interactive display as well.

Great little museum, well done local history, friendly staff. Our son and both adults had a great time learning about the local history. Told from the perspective of three families who still have roots in the area today. A great little museum, remember to donate or buy something to help support this gem.

We wish we'd found this museum earlier in our stay, the staff are so knowledgable about the local area both now and historically. Great interactive displays for all ages, definitely worth a visit.

There are interesting historical displays, and changing ones, too. While visiting the museum you can ask questions from the friendly docent, and purchase a few interesting gifts of books, maps, etc.

Small, friendly museum with an adjacent library and good WiFi. The musem offers history of al the mines in Groveland area as well as History of Yosemite national park! They have a small viewing room where guests can view the many documentaries available. Taking time to speak with the docents rounds out the experience.

Small but with the displays it brings you back to the Gold Rush era, A small theater is available to view local documentaries. Kudos to the volunteers staff, Adjacent door is the Groveland Library with free WIFI and use of internet.
