Although dogs are not allowed on the trails, they are allowed on all of the paved roads which means you can enjoy an easy walk at the entry way or climb two miles up to the lookout! We had our dog with us and she...More

Visiting from the UK and taking our children to California for the first time we were determined to show them the Redwoods. Our tight schedule did not allow to go to Muir Woods where I had visited before while the Mariposa Grove at Yosemite had...More

We paid the ridiculously cheap parking fee to drive up to a parking lot. It was pretty busy so we headed up a walk that was a bit more steep. It quickly gets quiet when you get away from the crowd, and is a really...More

An opportunity to walk among giant redwoods near the California Coast. Priceless, humbling and a bucket list item for all. Park for free just outside the booth and simply walk in at no charge.

During the period of the US Govt shutdown, was unsure of the availability of places like nearby Muir Woods, etc - we sought another option. This place hit the mark completely. Bigger and older Redwoods than those in Muir and it afforded our group a...More

The Reserve features hundreds of towering redwoods, with hiking trails providing easy access. Particularly notable are two trees: 1) the Parson Jones redwood, 310' tall, estimated at 1,300...More

My husband and I took a day away from the vineyards to do a bit of hiking. This park is an easy, scenic drive from Healdsburg. We hiked along the top of the ridge flanking the park then took the trail down into the valley....More

This park offers easy walks plus more involved hikes. Note that redwoods are only in the valley. When you climb out of the valley on one of the many trails, you will meet a different type of vegetation.

This is really a great place to take a mild hike. You feel so connected with the Redwoods. This park isn’t publicly funded so please drop a buck or two in the donation box, it is so worth it.

Like the others, I’ve not been to Big Basin. Armstrong, followed by a coastal drive is great!
