The location is very picturesque and the staff is friendly but we were thought it was a bit odd that we needed a reservation and they only had two wines to try. We sampled and were quickly off to the next stop.

I recently returned to Rafanelli Winery after twenty years and found the wine and the people to be just as good as I remembered. Small production of delicious Dry Creek Valley Zinfandel is their specialty as well as producing Merlot and Cabernet. If you are visiting Healdsburg make sure to stop as this wonderful family run winery.

If you want to taste the best Zinfandel make an appointment at A Rafanelli. Small, private, friendly, family run winery. Great Zin. Added benefit is the chocolate they serve. No fancy tour, just great Zin tasting.

We saw this appointment only winery written up in a book and reserved a tasting. Outstanding Zinfandel, excellent blends, but already sold out of thsi year's Cab. Dave Rafanelli learned it was my daughter's graduation trip after college and he gave her an autographed bottle of his Zinfandel. Outside, this is easily the most beautiful place outside of Tuscany, maybe... More

This Appointment Only wine tasting is well worth the stop as the views of the vineyard and surrounding area are just spectacular. The tasting room is located in the barrel room and the fourth generation owners make you feel right at home as you sample their cabs and zins. It is truly a family business that will be popular for... More

Love this this place unfortunately all the Cab's sold out but the Zin & Merlot were fantastic they even gave us some free olive oil definitely would recommend you stop by but if you want some Cab's I was told they release them in May... don't be late like me.

This family winery is set on beautiful land, with a lovely grocery garden and seating area that looks out onto the vines. Not surprisingly, the reds are delicious, reflecting the planning and hard work that comes from four generations of effort. Our tasting was conducted with great detail. A most memorable stop in Sonoma!

Maybe this is not appropriate as I last visited about three years ago. That visit was very memorable. I live in Oregon and rarely get to Sonoma area. The wines we tasted were BIG and beautiful...both the cabs and the zin. I am fortunate to be on the mailing list and order every year...the only way to get their wine.

I enjoy wine. Whether its Gruner Veltliner in Austria, The Devil's Red Rhine River, the big, complex Turley Zins of Paso Robles, or the consistent excellence of Rafanelli Zins, Cabs, or Merlot. Along with my wine friend and, dare I say, expert, four of us make an annual wine trip. The past two years we've been surprised at the quality and... More

We've been Rafanelli fans for yrs(>15). Every year the wines are good. Sometimes their vintages are great(2012!). Sometimes just good. Only issue is their limited access to taste. Note- make your Rezzies way in advance!
