Warm Springs Dam and Lake Sonoma are Fantastic

man made lake we visited to cool off on a 100 degree day, we hung out under a bridge, swam although the water had really receded, boat rentals and such around the lake, also some cool hiking spots in the state park

We were there to familiarize ourselves with Lake Sonoma. We went to the visitor's center, fish hatchery, and overlook (which has a fantastic view of the lake and marina) We had a very pleasant picnic next to the visitor center, which is very educational. There are ample picnic facilities in a well shaded area across from the base of the... More

Lake Sonoma is a project of the Army Corps of Engineers...that doesn't sound too much like Wine Country fun but after a few hours or days of wineries and high priced eateries it is nice to go to a parking overlook and take a long minute... take a full breath...exhale fully...and enjoy the view. This was a political hot button... More

Take a drive up the mountain to the overlook and see a beautiful view if this lake. While up there we also visited Gustafson winery which has a nice picnic area with breathtaking view of the lake.

We biked across the area. Very steep hills, absolutely quiet, no traffic at all, beautiful scenery, cool temperature. Great ride!

One of my favorite local spots to go to for a little getaway. The drive there is beautiful and it's not that far from town. There are hiking trails, great views, picnic areas, boating, and of course the lake. Best of all, it's free!

Lake Sonoma overlook is really worth a visit, there was only one other person there when I went, and the views of the valley and the lake are incredible. Saw many birds of prey as well. There are restrooms and picnic benches there as well if you need. Take dry creek road through the dry creek valley from north of... More

if you want to see a man made lake in N. California, this is as good as any. Doesn't look as dire as those in the Shasta Lakes area in terms of the drought right now.

I liked the small town atmosphere of Healdsburg. It was a warm day and in the evening we took a long walk around the plaza and discovered a charming place to visit again and again. I did not dislike anything

Beautiful Lake, deplorable amenities. I really Gould not believe the state of the bathrooms. Just nasty! The docks are past disrepair, they are just delapidated and in need of replacement. The convenience store is a joke nod such a sadly missed opportunity. this truly beautiful location really deserves better from whoever is responsible.
