Picked up friends in Trochu and drove out to spend some time with walkabout and seeing natural geography .. felt like stepping back in time .. a hiker's dream!!!

An interesting visit as it provides a picture perfect view of the meeting between the boreal forest and the badlands of central Alberta. The access is relatively limited through Trenville Park Campground. One can walk about 1km in both directions along the bank of the Red Deer River. The Campground is bordered by private property so exploratory hiking is limited. In the short time I was there I saw two deer, a beaver and two pheasants.
